THE LOVE STORY HEALING METHOD™
Love God. Love Yourself. Love Your Neighbour.
Introduction
The Love Story Healing Method™ is a holistic healing journey built on one simple premise:
You are not broken.
There is nothing fundamentally wrong with you that needs to be fixed.
There may be wounds that need attention.
There may be beliefs that need to be questioned.
There may be emotions that have been suppressed.
There may be parts of yourself that you have rejected.
There may be relationships that need healing.
There may be experiences that you have never fully embraced.
But beneath all of this is something whole.
You.
The purpose of this modality is therefore not to fix a broken person.
It is to help a person return to themselves through love.
It is a journey of learning to embrace life rather than resist it, to welcome feelings rather than fear them, to accept yourself rather than constantly judge yourself, and to transform your relationship with God, yourself and others.
The ultimate invitation is to see your life differently:
Your life is not a problem to be solved.
Your life is a love story to be lived.
THE THREE MOVEMENTS OF HEALING
The Love Story Healing Method™ follows three movements:
1. Love God
2. Love Yourself
3. Love Your Neighbour
These are not three separate ideas.
They are a progression.
When we reconnect with the source of love, we begin discovering our own worth. When we learn to love and accept ourselves, we become capable of loving others without needing them to complete us.
The journey moves:
From connection → to acceptance → to relationship.
MOVEMENT ONE
LOVE GOD
Reconnecting with the Source of Love
Healing begins with connection.
For the person who follows the Christian path, this means returning to God and discovering that God’s love is not something that must be earned.
You do not have to become perfect before you can be loved.
You are loved now.
The first stage of the modality therefore creates a safe spiritual foundation from which healing can take place.
The practices
1. Stillness
Begin with silence.
Sit quietly. Breathe slowly. Become aware of the present moment.
There is nothing to achieve.
Simply become present.
2. Prayer
Speak honestly with God.
Not the version of yourself you think God wants to see—the real you.
Bring your fear.
Bring your anger.
Bring your shame.
Bring your confusion.
Bring your gratitude.
Bring everything.
3. Surrender
Ask:
“What am I trying to control that I need to surrender?”
Healing often begins when the fight with reality ends.
4. Trust
Develop the practice of trusting that you do not have to understand everything immediately.
Some things are healed through understanding.
Other things are healed through acceptance.
5. Gratitude
Each day identify three things for which you are genuinely grateful.
Gratitude shifts attention from what is missing toward what is already present.
MOVEMENT TWO
LOVE YOURSELF
Meeting Yourself With Compassion
This is the heart of the healing process.
Many people spend their lives trying to improve themselves because they secretly believe they are inadequate.
The Love Story Healing Method™ begins somewhere different:
You are already worthy of love.
Personal growth is no longer punishment for being inadequate.
It becomes an expression of love.
The Five Steps of Self-Love
Step 1 — See Yourself
Develop self-awareness.
Notice your:
- thoughts
- emotions
- behaviours
- patterns
- fears
- needs
- desires
- triggers
- strengths
- wounds
The instruction is simple:
Notice without judging.
Awareness comes before transformation.
Step 2 — Accept Yourself
Acceptance does not mean approving of everything you have done.
It means acknowledging:
“This is where I am.”
You cannot heal what you refuse to acknowledge.
Ask:
“What part of myself am I still fighting?”
Then ask:
“What would happen if I stopped fighting it and started listening to it?”
Step 3 — Love the Parts of You That Hurt
Instead of asking:
“What’s wrong with me?”
Ask:
“What happened to me?”
And then:
“What does this part of me need now?”
This changes the entire healing conversation.
Anger may need to be heard.
Fear may need safety.
Shame may need compassion.
The lonely part may need connection.
The exhausted part may need rest.
The rejected part may need acceptance.
The frightened child within may need reassurance.
We stop attacking the symptom and begin listening to the message.
Step 4 — Release
Healing requires letting go.
This may include releasing:
- resentment
- guilt
- shame
- limiting beliefs
- old identities
- unrealistic expectations
- the need for approval
- the need to control others
- stories that no longer serve you
Forgiveness becomes an important part of this stage.
Forgiveness does not mean pretending something did not happen.
It means refusing to allow what happened to continue owning your future.
Step 5 — Re-choose Yourself
Ask:
“If I truly loved myself, how would I live today?”
Then make choices from that place.
Better boundaries.
Better relationships.
Better habits.
Better conversations.
Better self-care.
Better decisions.
Not because you are broken.
Because you are valuable.
MOVEMENT THREE
LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR
Healing Through Connection
We do not heal only in isolation.
Human beings are relational.
Much of our pain occurs in relationships—and much of our healing occurs in relationships.
This stage teaches us to bring the love we have discovered within ourselves into the world around us.
But loving others does not mean abandoning ourselves.
It means learning to love without losing ourselves.
The Five Relationship Practices
Presence
Be fully with another person.
Put down the phone.
Listen.
Look at them.
Be there.
Empathy
Instead of immediately asking:
“Do I agree with them?”
Ask:
“Can I understand their experience?”
Compassion
Recognise that everyone is carrying something you may not see.
Boundaries
Love does not require allowing people to hurt you.
A boundary can be an expression of love—for yourself and sometimes for another person.
Service
Ask:
“How can my presence make someone else’s life a little better?”
Love becomes real when it becomes action.
THE SIX HEALING PRINCIPLES
The modality incorporates six foundational principles.
1. AWARENESS
You cannot transform what you cannot see.
Practice: Observe yourself without judgement.
2. ACCEPTANCE
Stop fighting the reality of the moment.
Practice: Say:
“This is what is here right now.”
3. EMOTIONAL RELEASE
Feelings need to be experienced, expressed and understood rather than permanently suppressed.
Practice: Name the emotion.
“I am feeling…”
Then ask:
“What is this feeling trying to tell me?”
4. FORGIVENESS
Release the emotional grip of the past.
Practice:
“I acknowledge what happened.
I honour what I experienced.
I release what I no longer need to carry.
I choose freedom.”
5. RECONNECTION
Reconnect with God, yourself, your body, your emotions and other people.
Practice: Create intentional moments of connection every day.
6. LOVE
Love becomes the final integrating principle.
Instead of asking:
“What is wrong?”
Ask:
“What needs love?”
THE HEALING SESSION
A Love Story Healing Method™ session can follow a simple seven-stage structure.
STEP 1 — ARRIVE
Create safety.
Slow the breathing.
Become present.
Ask:
“What is happening for me right now?”
STEP 2 — NOTICE
Identify the issue.
What happened?
What are you feeling?
Where do you feel it in your body?
What thoughts accompany it?
STEP 3 — UNDERSTAND
Explore the deeper story.
Ask:
“When have I felt this before?”
“What meaning have I attached to this?”
“What am I believing about myself?”
STEP 4 — EMBRACE
Rather than rejecting the experience, welcome it.
Say:
“I am willing to be with this.”
The goal is not to force the feeling away.
The goal is to create enough safety for the feeling to be experienced.
STEP 5 — LOVE
Bring compassion to the wounded part.
Place a hand over the heart if comfortable.
Imagine speaking to the part of yourself that is hurting.
Say:
“I see you.”
“I hear you.”
“I understand why you are hurting.”
“You don’t have to fight anymore.”
“You are worthy of love.”
STEP 6 — RELEASE AND RE-CHOOSE
Release what no longer serves you.
Then consciously choose a new response.
Ask:
“What would love choose now?”
This becomes the central decision-making question of the modality.
STEP 7 — INTEGRATE
Finish by asking:
What have I learned?
What am I releasing?
What am I accepting?
What am I choosing?
What action will I take?
The healing experience then becomes something that is lived—not merely something that happened during a session.
THE LOVE QUESTION
The central therapeutic question of the entire modality is:
“What would love do here?”
When you are afraid:
What would love do?
When you are angry:
What would love do?
When you are hurt:
What would love do?
When someone disappoints you:
What would love do?
When you are judging yourself:
What would love do?
When you have to make a difficult decision:
What would love do?
This question becomes a compass.
THE BODY–MIND–HEART–SPIRIT INTEGRATION
The modality recognises four dimensions of the human experience.
THE BODY
Breathing, relaxation, movement, awareness and grounding.
THE MIND
Self-awareness, beliefs, perceptions, cognitive reframing and conscious choice.
THE HEART
Emotional awareness, compassion, forgiveness, acceptance and connection.
THE SPIRIT
Prayer, surrender, faith, gratitude, meaning and connection with God.
Healing becomes more complete when these dimensions are brought together.
THE DAILY LOVE PRACTICE
The modality can be practised every morning and evening.
MORNING
Ask:
Love God:
“How can I connect with God today?”
Love Yourself:
“What does my mind, body and heart need today?”
Love Your Neighbour:
“Who can I love, encourage or serve today?”
Then choose one action for each.
EVENING
Reflect:
Where did I experience love today?
Where did I give love today?
Where did I withhold love?
What am I grateful for?
What do I need to forgive?
What can I release before I sleep?
Finish with:
“I have done enough for today.
I release this day.
I give thanks for what it taught me.
Tomorrow I begin again.”
THE CORE TRANSFORMATION
The Love Story Healing Method™ seeks to move a person through five transformations:
From rejection → to acceptance
From resistance → to embrace
From fear → to love
From disconnection → to connection
From surviving life → to living life
And ultimately:
From believing “I need to be fixed”
to knowing “I need to be loved.”
THE FINAL PRINCIPLE
The deepest teaching of this modality is this:
Life is going to contain beautiful experiences and painful experiences.
There will be joy and grief.
Love and loss.
Success and failure.
Beginning and ending.
Connection and separation.
You do not have to love everything that happens.
But you can learn to stop rejecting your life.
You can learn to embrace the experience, feel what is there, learn what it has come to teach you, allow yourself to heal, and then choose how you want to move forward.
This is where healing becomes a way of living.
You begin to see every experience as another chapter.
Every person becomes a teacher.
Every emotion becomes a messenger.
Every wound becomes an invitation.
Every relationship becomes an opportunity to practise love.
Every day becomes another page.
And eventually you discover something profound:
You were never meant to spend your life fixing yourself.
You were meant to discover yourself, accept yourself, love yourself—and then live your astonishing love story.
That is the invitation of the Love Story Healing Method™.
Love God.
Love Yourself.
Love Your Neighbour.
And love the life you have been given.
