30-Day Love Story Action Plan: LOVE: The Word We Have Forgotten How to Honour – A Book by Gerald Crawford (2026)

30-Day Love Story Action Plan

Thirty days to stop fixing yourself, start loving yourself, and begin living your life as the astonishing love story it is.

The purpose of these 30 days is not to become a better version of yourself.

It is to become more fully yourself.

You are not broken. You do not need to fix yourself. There are simply parts of you that have been waiting to be seen, accepted, forgiven, understood and loved.

For the next 30 days, make one decision:

I will stop fighting my life and start embracing it.

The journey follows three movements:

Love God.
Love Yourself.
Love Your Neighbour.

And underneath all three is one principle:

Love is something we do, not merely something we feel.

DAY 1 — Choose Your Love Story

Today, make a conscious decision that your life is going to be a love story.

Not because everything that happens will be beautiful.

But because you choose to embrace everything that happens and discover what it has come to teach, reveal or awaken in you.

Write:

“I choose to live my life as a love story.”

Then ask:

  • What would change if I stopped seeing my life as something I have to fix?
  • What would I embrace if I stopped resisting my circumstances?
  • Who would I become if I chose love as my response?

DAY 2 — Love God

Begin with the first movement:

Love God.

Spend 15 minutes in silence today.

Do not ask God for anything.

Simply sit.

Breathe.

Be present.

And say:

“God, I am here.”

Then listen.

DAY 3 — Receive God’s Love

Many people know how to love God but struggle to believe that they are deeply loved by God.

Today, don’t try to earn God’s love.

Receive it.

Write down:

“I am loved before I achieve anything.”

Read it slowly several times.

Allow yourself to experience the possibility that God’s love isn’t something you have to deserve.

DAY 4 — Meet Yourself Without Judgment

Spend 20 minutes alone with yourself.

Ask:

“Who am I when I don’t have to impress anybody?”

Notice the thoughts, fears, ambitions and insecurities that appear.

Don’t change them.

Don’t judge them.

Simply observe.

Awareness is an act of love.

DAY 5 — Stop Trying to Fix Yourself

Identify three things about yourself that you regularly criticize.

For each one, replace:

“I need to fix this.”

with:

“This part of me needs love.”

Ask:

“What would loving this part of myself look like?”

DAY 6 — Forgive Yourself

Write yourself a letter.

Forgive yourself for:

  • mistakes
  • poor decisions
  • relationships
  • words spoken
  • words left unsaid
  • opportunities missed
  • times you didn’t know better

Finish with:

“I release the person I was, and I love the person I am becoming.”

DAY 7 — Practice Gratitude

Today, deliberately notice what is good.

Write down 20 things you are grateful for.

They don’t have to be significant.

Your coffee.

Your breath.

A conversation.

Sunlight.

A dog barking.

A beautiful song.

Gratitude trains us to see the love already present in our lives.

WEEK TWO — LOVING YOURSELF

DAY 8 — Listen to Your Body

Your body has been speaking to you your entire life.

Today, listen.

Ask:

  • Where am I holding tension?
  • Where am I tired?
  • What does my body need?
  • What have I been ignoring?

Give your body one act of kindness today.

DAY 9 — Love Your Feelings

Today, don’t run away from an uncomfortable emotion.

When it appears, say:

“You are allowed to be here.”

Feelings don’t necessarily need to be solved.

Sometimes they simply need to be felt.

DAY 10 — Love Your Thoughts

Watch your inner dialogue.

Every time you hear yourself say:

“I’m stupid.”
“I always mess things up.”
“I’m not good enough.”

stop.

Replace it with:

“I am learning.”

Speak to yourself as you would speak to someone you deeply love.

DAY 11 — Discover Your Needs

Ask yourself:

“What do I need more of in my life?”

Perhaps:

  • rest
  • connection
  • affection
  • adventure
  • solitude
  • purpose
  • play
  • creativity
  • spiritual connection

Then give yourself one of those things today.

DAY 12 — Set a Loving Boundary

Love does not mean allowing everything.

Today, identify one boundary you need to establish.

A boundary isn’t punishment.

It is an expression of self-respect.

Practice saying:

“I love you, and this is what I need.”

DAY 13 — Do Something That Makes You Feel Alive

Do something simply because you love doing it.

Dance.

Walk.

Swim.

Bake.

Listen to music.

Watch the sunset.

Laugh.

Play.

Don’t make everything productive.

Life is meant to be lived, not merely managed.

DAY 14 — Celebrate Yourself

Today, celebrate yourself.

Write down 10 things you appreciate about yourself.

Don’t be modest.

You are allowed to acknowledge your goodness.

You are allowed to celebrate who you are.

WEEK THREE — LOVING YOUR NEIGHBOUR

DAY 15 — See People Differently

Today, deliberately look at people differently.

Instead of asking:

“What can this person do for me?”

ask:

“What might this person be carrying?”

Everyone you meet is living a story you know very little about.

Choose compassion.

DAY 16 — Practice the Power of How

We often remember less about what someone said than how they made us feel.

Today, pay attention to your how.

How do you greet people?

How do you listen?

How do you disagree?

How do you touch?

How do you speak?

How do you leave people feeling?

Make your how an expression of love.

DAY 17 — Listen Without Fixing

Have one conversation today where your only objective is to listen.

Don’t interrupt.

Don’t give advice.

Don’t solve.

Don’t compare.

Simply listen.

Sometimes the greatest gift we can give another person is:

“I see you. I hear you. You matter.”

DAY 18 — Serve Someone

Today, deliberately serve someone.

Do something without expecting anything in return.

Make someone coffee.

Help someone.

Send encouragement.

Carry something.

Give your time.

The serving spirit is one of love’s most beautiful expressions.

DAY 19 — Give Without Expectation

Give something today without expecting recognition.

It could be:

  • money
  • time
  • attention
  • forgiveness
  • encouragement
  • affection
  • opportunity

Give simply because you can.

DAY 20 — Forgive Someone

Choose someone you are still carrying emotionally.

You don’t necessarily have to contact them.

Simply begin releasing them.

Say:

“I choose to release the hold this experience has on me.”

Forgiveness doesn’t say what happened was acceptable.

It says:

“I refuse to allow yesterday to own tomorrow.”

DAY 21 — Love Someone Who Is Difficult to Love

This is where the journey becomes real.

Think of someone who challenges you.

Instead of asking:

“Why are they like this?”

ask:

“How can I respond with love without abandoning myself?”

Love and boundaries can coexist.

WEEK FOUR — LIVING THE LOVE STORY

DAY 22 — Embrace What Is

Choose one circumstance in your life that you have been resisting.

Say:

“This is where I am today.”

You don’t have to like it.

You don’t have to stay there.

But stop fighting the fact that it exists.

Acceptance creates the space from which transformation can begin.

DAY 23 — Find the Gift in the Experience

Think about something difficult you’ve experienced.

Ask:

“What did this teach me?”

Perhaps it taught you:

  • resilience
  • compassion
  • courage
  • boundaries
  • humility
  • wisdom
  • self-awareness

You don’t have to call the experience good.

But you can choose to find something good that came from it.

DAY 24 — Choose Your Response

Today, practice the space between what happens and how you respond.

When something triggers you:

Pause.
Breathe.
Observe.
Choose.

You are not responsible for everything that happens to you.

But you are responsible for what you do with it.

DAY 25 — Live in the Present

Spend an entire day practicing presence.

When eating, eat.

When walking, walk.

When speaking, speak.

When listening, listen.

When loving, love.

Don’t live today’s moment while mentally visiting yesterday or tomorrow.

This moment is your life.

DAY 26 — Love Through Touch

Human beings need loving connection.

Today, deliberately offer appropriate, consensual affection.

A hug.

A hand held.

A gentle touch on the shoulder.

A loving embrace.

And notice the difference between touch that seeks something and touch that simply communicates:

“I am here with you.”

DAY 27 — Make Love Practical

Ask yourself:

“If love were my operating system, how would I live differently?”

Consider:

  • my marriage
  • my children
  • my friendships
  • my work
  • my money
  • my health
  • my community
  • strangers
  • myself

Choose one practical change.

Then make it.

DAY 28 — Become the Love You Seek

Instead of asking:

“Why doesn’t somebody love me the way I need?”

ask:

“Am I becoming the person who gives the love I desire?”

Want more kindness?

Give kindness.

Want more listening?

Listen.

Want more affection?

Give affection.

Want more understanding?

Understand.

Want more service?

Serve.

Become what you are looking for.

DAY 29 — Write Your Personal Love Manifesto

Write your own declaration for how you intend to live.

Begin with:

“From this day forward…”

Include the principles that matter most to you.

Perhaps:

  • I will love God.
  • I will love myself.
  • I will love my neighbour.
  • I will stop trying to fix myself.
  • I will embrace my experiences.
  • I will forgive.
  • I will serve.
  • I will listen.
  • I will choose my response.
  • I will live intentionally.
  • I will make love practical.
  • I will remember that my life is a love story.

Make it yours.

DAY 30 — Begin Again

Today is not the end.

It is the beginning.

Look back over the previous 29 days and ask:

What have I learned about love?

What have I learned about myself?

What do I need to release?

What do I need to embrace?

Who do I need to forgive?

Who do I need to love better?

How do I want to live from this day forward?

Then make one final declaration:

“I choose love.”

Not because life will always be easy.

Not because people will always treat me well.

Not because I will never experience pain.

But because I have discovered something profound:

I don’t have to reject any part of my journey.

I can embrace it.

I can learn from it.

I can grow through it.

I can love through it.

And I can continue writing this extraordinary story.

THE 30-DAY COMMITMENT

At the end of the 30 days, make these five commitments:

1. Love God.

Return to the source of love.

2. Love yourself.

Stop treating yourself as a problem that needs fixing.

3. Love your neighbour.

Make your presence a gift to the people around you.

4. Embrace your life.

Don’t reject experiences simply because they are uncomfortable.

5. Serve.

Turn love from an idea into an action.

Because ultimately, the greatest love story isn’t the one we read about.

It is the one we choose to live.

And perhaps that is what this entire journey has been trying to tell us:

Your life is already the love story.

You don’t have to wait for the perfect person.

You don’t have to wait for the perfect circumstances.

You don’t have to become perfect.

You simply have to open your heart to the life that is already happening.

Love God.
Love yourself.
Love your neighbour.
Embrace everything.
Serve generously.
And live your astonishing love story.
