The Deepening Quiet

6 of 8 — The Deepening Quiet

In the mid-autumn of a life that understands,
where the noise has thinned and meaning remains,
I walk more slowly through myself—
not from weakness, but from knowing.

It is early evening,
the sun slipping gently beyond the edge of things,
its light no longer reaching for attention,
but offering a quiet farewell.

The air is cool and steady,
a soft wind moving through what is left,
trees half-bare, unashamed,
standing honest in their letting go.

This is the season of acceptance,
of seeing clearly without needing to change everything,
of honoring what was,
and what no longer needs to be.

My mind is open,
not searching, not resisting—
it holds space for truth as it is,
without the urgency to reshape it.

My heart is open,
deep and steady,
no longer rushing to give or to guard,
but resting in a quiet, enduring warmth.

And my hands—
they are open again, fully now,
not reaching, not holding,
simply present—
ready to give,
ready to receive,
without fear of either.

There is a stillness in this hour,
not empty, but full in a different way—
like a breath held gently
between what has been
and what will come.

In this fading light,
this honest, cooling world,
I am learning that peace
is not found in having—
but in no longer needing to hold.

My Personal Motto Is: With experience and study comes insight with insight come wisdom with wisdom comes moments of absolute clarity, transcendence then follows.
