Preparing for Chakra Healing
Creating the Space Within Before the Healing Begins
Chakra healing is not simply something we do for a few minutes while listening to a recording or sitting quietly.
It can become an opportunity to pause, turn inward, become aware of ourselves, and intentionally create space for change.
The preparation therefore matters.
Before beginning a chakra healing exercise, take some time to prepare your body, your mind, your environment, and your intention.
You do not have to be perfect.
You do not have to arrive completely calm.
You do not have to understand everything about the chakra system.
You simply need to arrive with openness.
The healing process begins before the meditation, hypnosis, or guided exercise starts.
1. Begin Preparing Your Mind
If possible, begin your preparation several hours before your chakra healing session.
Rather than rushing from one activity into another and immediately beginning the session, create a small transition period.
Give yourself permission to slow down.
Ask yourself:
What am I hoping to experience through this healing?
Perhaps you are looking for greater peace.
Perhaps you feel emotionally blocked.
Perhaps you want to reconnect with yourself.
Perhaps you simply want to rest and become more aware of what is happening within you.
There does not have to be a dramatic reason.
Your intention can simply be:
“I am giving myself permission to pause, reconnect and heal.”
Do not force an outcome.
Enter the process with curiosity rather than expectation.
2. Begin Reducing Mental Noise
In the hours before your session, become conscious of unnecessary stimulation.
Where possible, reduce:
- Excessive social media
- Arguments and conflict
- Constant news consumption
- Overworking
- Excessive screen time
- Unnecessary distractions
- Multitasking
This does not mean you need to isolate yourself.
It simply means you are beginning to create a quieter internal environment.
The quieter the environment becomes, the easier it can be to notice what is happening within you.
3. Prepare Your Body
Your body is an important part of the healing experience.
Before your session, give your body an opportunity to settle.
Drink some water.
Eat appropriately, but avoid beginning the session immediately after a very heavy meal.
Wear comfortable clothing.
If possible, avoid beginning the session when you are physically uncomfortable, extremely hungry, overly full, or exhausted.
Gentle movement can also help.
A slow walk.
A few stretches.
Some gentle breathing.
A warm shower or bath.
These simple actions can help create a transition between the busyness of the day and the inward experience of healing.
4. Hydrate
Have water available before, during, and after the session.
Hydration is a simple way of caring for the body while you participate in a deeply relaxing practice.
There is no need to force excessive amounts of water.
Simply make sure you are comfortably hydrated.
5. Prepare Your Space
The physical environment matters.
Choose a place where you are unlikely to be interrupted.
Turn off unnecessary notifications.
Put your phone on silent or Do Not Disturb.
Let the people around you know that you need some uninterrupted time if necessary.
You may want:
- A comfortable chair or bed
- A blanket
- A pillow
- Soft lighting
- Comfortable clothing
- Water
- Headphones, if appropriate
- A journal and pen
Your environment does not need to be elaborate.
It needs to feel safe, comfortable and private.
6. Create a Sense of Safety
Before beginning any deep relaxation or hypnotherapy exercise, establish a sense of safety.
Remind yourself:
“I am safe in this moment.”
“I can stop whenever I choose.”
“I remain in control of myself.”
“I can allow myself to relax at my own pace.”
Healing does not require you to surrender your ability to make choices.
You remain aware of yourself and your surroundings.
If anything feels uncomfortable, you can open your eyes, move your body, change position, pause the recording, or stop the exercise completely.
7. Prepare Emotionally
Sometimes becoming quiet creates an opportunity for emotions to surface.
You may experience sadness.
You may experience relief.
You may remember something.
You may become aware of tension you had previously ignored.
You may feel nothing particularly dramatic at all.
All of these experiences can be valid.
Do not judge yourself for what arises.
You do not need to force an emotional release.
You do not need to search for memories.
You do not need to manufacture an experience.
Simply allow yourself to notice.
Awareness comes before change.
8. Set an Intention for Your Healing
Before beginning, establish your personal intention.
Your intention might be:
“I am open to becoming more aware of myself.”
Or:
“I give myself permission to release what I no longer need.”
Or:
“I choose to create greater balance within myself.”
Or simply:
“I am ready to receive this experience.”
Your intention is not a demand.
It is an invitation.
9. Become Aware of Your Body
Before starting the chakra healing process, take a few moments to notice your body.
Notice your feet.
Your legs.
Your hips.
Your abdomen.
Your chest.
Your shoulders.
Your throat.
Your face.
Your head.
Notice where you feel comfortable.
Notice where you feel tension.
Notice areas that feel heavy, restless, numb, warm or relaxed.
You do not need to change anything.
Simply observe.
This begins the movement from doing into being.
10. Begin With Grounding
Because chakra healing often moves from the lower chakras upward toward the crown, grounding is an important part of the preparation.
Feel the support beneath your body.
Feel your feet against the floor if you are sitting.
Take a slow breath.
Allow yourself to become aware of the present moment.
You might imagine roots extending from your feet into the earth.
Not because you have to make anything happen, but because the image can provide a simple psychological anchor for stability and presence.
Before we reach upward, we first learn to feel supported where we are.
11. Release the Need to Perform
You cannot fail at healing because you did not experience something dramatic.
You do not need to see colours.
You do not need to feel energy.
You do not need to experience visions.
You do not need to feel every chakra.
You do not need to experience anything in a particular way.
Your experience is your experience.
The purpose is not to perform healing.
The purpose is to create conditions in which relaxation, awareness, reflection and personal change can take place.
12. Prepare Your Journal
Consider keeping a journal nearby.
Before the session, write down a few simple observations:
How am I feeling today?
What is occupying my mind?
Where do I feel tension in my body?
What would I like to release?
What would I like to develop within myself?
What is my intention for this experience?
Do not write an essay.
A few honest sentences are enough.
After the session, you can return to these questions and notice whether anything has shifted.
13. Prepare Yourself the Day Before
If you know that your chakra healing session is coming, begin preparing mentally the day before.
You might consciously decide:
Tomorrow I am going to give myself time.
Avoid turning the session into another appointment that must simply be completed.
Instead, treat it as intentional personal time.
Where possible, allow yourself some space before and after the session so that you do not have to immediately rush into another demanding activity.
14. The Morning of the Session
On the day of your session, begin gently.
Give yourself enough time.
Hydrate.
Eat appropriately.
Spend a few moments breathing slowly.
Notice how you feel.
You may wish to take a quiet walk or spend a few minutes outside.
Allow your mind to gradually transition toward the experience.
You are not trying to achieve a particular state.
You are simply preparing to become present.
15. Just Before the Healing Begins
When you are ready, settle into your chosen position.
Make yourself physically comfortable.
Adjust your clothing.
Position your body so that you can remain still without unnecessary discomfort.
Have your water nearby.
Make sure your phone is silent.
Close unnecessary applications.
Reduce interruptions.
Then take a moment.
Do nothing.
Just breathe.
Allow yourself to recognise:
I am here.
This time is for me.
I do not have to rush.
I can simply be present.
16. Moving Through the Chakras
The chakra healing process can then begin from the base of the body and move progressively upward.
Beginning with the Root Chakra, the process can focus on grounding, safety and stability.
Moving into the Sacral Chakra, attention can turn toward emotional flow, creativity and connection with pleasure and experience.
The Solar Plexus Chakra can become a point of reflection around personal power, confidence and purposeful action.
The Heart Chakra can invite awareness of compassion, connection, love and forgiveness.
The Throat Chakra can provide an opportunity to reflect upon communication, expression and authenticity.
The Third Eye Chakra can become a space for awareness, reflection, intuition and perspective.
Finally, the Crown Chakra can represent connection, meaning, spaciousness and a sense of something greater than the individual self.
The purpose is not to force anything open.
It is to move progressively through awareness.
17. After the Healing
Do not immediately jump back into a busy environment if you can avoid it.
Give yourself a few minutes.
Move slowly.
Drink some water.
Notice your body.
Notice your breathing.
Notice your emotional state.
You may want to write down anything that came to mind.
You may have experienced something profound.
Or perhaps you simply feel relaxed.
Both are okay.
Integration is part of the process.
18. Give the Experience Time
Transformation does not necessarily happen during the session itself.
Sometimes the value of the experience becomes clearer later.
You may notice yourself responding differently to something.
You may become aware of a pattern.
You may feel more relaxed.
You may recognise something you previously overlooked.
You may simply become more conscious of yourself.
Give the experience time.
Do not demand immediate answers.
19. The Most Important Preparation
Perhaps the most important preparation is this:
Do not come to the healing process trying to become someone else.
Come as yourself.
Bring your fears.
Bring your questions.
Bring your uncertainty.
Bring your hopes.
Bring your experiences.
Bring whatever is present within you.
You do not have to arrive healed.
You simply have to arrive willing to become aware.
A Final Preparation
Before beginning the chakra healing journey, take one final breath.
Close your eyes if that feels comfortable.
Place your attention within yourself.
And quietly say:
“I give myself permission to slow down.
I give myself permission to become aware.
I give myself permission to release what I am ready to release.
I give myself permission to receive what serves my growth.
I do not need to force this experience.
I will allow myself to move through it gently, safely and consciously.
I am here.
I am present.
I am ready.”
And then begin.
The healing journey does not start when the recording begins.
It starts the moment you decide to give yourself permission to pause, listen and become aware.
Preparing the Space Within
Chakra healing is ultimately an invitation to become more conscious of the relationship between your body, your emotions, your thoughts, your experiences and your sense of connection.
Prepare the environment.
Prepare the body.
Prepare the mind.
Prepare the intention.
Then let go of the need to control the experience.
You have prepared the ground.
Now you can begin the journey.
