Below is a gentle hypnotherapy / inner-child healing script using the Pinocchio story as a symbolic healing journey.
It is written in a safe, non-directive, permissive style, suitable for coaching, spiritual formation, or guided self-reflection.
You may read it slowly, pausing where it feels natural.
From Puppet to Real
A Pinocchio-Inspired Inner-Child Healing Script
1. Induction – Entering the Story
Take a slow, deep breath in…
and gently exhale.
Allow your body to soften.
There is nothing you need to do.
Nothing you need to fix.
With every breath out,
let the weight of effort leave your body.
Now imagine you are standing at the edge of a quiet workshop.
The air is warm.
The light is soft.
It feels safe here.
This is Geppetto’s workshop – a place of intention, care, and love.
2. Meeting the Inner Child – Pinocchio
Inside the workshop, you notice a wooden figure.
Not broken.
Not wrong.
Just unfinished.
This is Pinocchio — your inner child.
Notice:
- His size
- His expression
- His posture
This part of you has been alive for a long time…
waiting to be seen, not corrected.
You don’t need to change him.
Just be present.
3. The Father’s Gaze – Unconditional Love
Now sense Geppetto nearby.
He is not angry.
He is not disappointed.
He looks at Pinocchio with delight.
Feel what it is like
to be seen before you perform.
Let this truth settle gently:
“I was wanted before I was ready.”
If it feels right, allow that love
to reach the child inside you.
4. Awakening Conscience – Jiminy Cricket
Somewhere close, you notice Jiminy Cricket.
He does not shout.
He does not shame.
He simply reminds.
He whispers:
“You are allowed to choose slowly.”
“You are allowed to learn.”
Notice how different this voice feels
from the voice of pressure or fear.
Let your nervous system recognize:
This voice is safe.
5. The Nose – Releasing False Survival Stories
Now gently bring awareness to the nose.
This nose grew when Pinocchio lied — not to harm,
but to protect himself.
Ask softly:
-
What did I need to survive?
-
What did I learn to say, hide, or become?
You are not judging the lie.
You are honoring the need behind it.
And now, gently, allow the nose to soften…
shrink…
return to its natural shape.
As it does, say inwardly:
“I no longer need distortion to be safe.”
6. Leaving Pleasure Island – Reclaiming Choice
You may briefly notice Pleasure Island in the distance — the place of escape, impulse, and avoidance.
You don’t need to go there again.
You understand now:
- Pleasure without care costs the soul
- Freedom without truth is not freedom
Turn away gently.
No force.
Just clarity.
7. The Belly of the Whale – Reclaiming Responsibility
Now imagine yourself inside the belly of the whale.
It is dark…
quiet…
still.
This is the place where you stopped running.
Here, Pinocchio chose responsibility.
Not because he was forced — but because he loved.
Feel this truth rise inside you:
“I am strong enough to choose love now.”
Notice the calm strength in your body.
8. The Act of Love – Becoming Real
See Pinocchio helping Geppetto.
Not to earn love — but because love has formed him.
This is the moment of transformation.
Not perfection.
Not innocence.
Integration.
As Pinocchio breathes,
his body becomes warm…
human…
real.
Let your inner child hear these words:
“You are real because you love, not because you perform.”
9. Integration – Returning with Wholeness
Now gently allow the images to soften.
Bring awareness back to your breath…
your body…
this moment.
Know this:
- Your inner child is not gone
- He is no longer alone
- He walks with wisdom now
Take one final breath in…
and slowly exhale.
When you are ready,
open your eyes.
Closing Reflection (Optional)
You may wish to reflect later on:
- Where did I first learn to lie to survive?
- What part of me is learning to become real now?
One-Line Integration Truth
“Healing is not becoming innocent again – it is becoming whole.”
