90 DAY MENTORSHIP PROGRAM: BECOME: The Identity Behind Your Results – A Book by Gerald Crawford (2026). – Change who you believe you are, and you change what your life can become.

90-DAY MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

You Have Paid for Your Past by Living It

A 3-Month Journey from Your Past into Your Possibilities

Core promise:
You cannot change what happened, but you can change what it means, what you carry from it, and what you do with the life you have left to live.

This is not a program about forgetting the past.
It is about stopping the past from continuing to charge you interest.

THE 3-MONTH JOURNEY

MONTH 1 — UNDERSTAND

“This Is What Happened to Me.”

The first month is about becoming honest about the past without allowing the past to define your identity.

Week 1 — My Story

Theme: How did I become the person I am today?

Participants explore:

  • Their life story
  • Significant childhood experiences
  • Major relationships
  • Significant losses
  • Failures and disappointments
  • Choices they regret
  • Moments that changed them
  • People who influenced them

Exercise:

My Life Timeline

Participants create a timeline of their life and identify the events that shaped them.

Mentorship question:

“What happened in my life that I am still allowing to influence who I am today?”

Week 2 — The Wounds I Carry

Theme: What am I still carrying?

Participants identify:

  • Anger
  • Shame
  • Guilt
  • Rejection
  • Abandonment
  • Betrayal
  • Fear
  • Resentment
  • Disappointment
  • Unforgiveness

Exercise:

My Emotional Baggage Inventory

For each unresolved experience:

What happened?
What did I feel?
What did I believe about myself because of it?
How does it still affect me?

Week 3 — The Meaning I Gave My Past

Theme: The event happened. But what story did I create about it?

This is a crucial part of the mentorship.

Participants learn the difference between:

What happened
and
what I decided it meant.

For example:

“Someone rejected me”
can become
“I am not good enough.”

The mentorship helps participants challenge those conclusions.

Exercise:

Change the Story

Participants take five painful experiences and rewrite the meaning they have attached to them.

Week 4 — Taking Responsibility Without Taking the Blame

Theme: My past may explain me, but it does not have to control me.

Participants learn to distinguish between:

  • Responsibility
  • Blame
  • Victimhood
  • Accountability
  • Choice

The question becomes:

“What part of my life can I take responsibility for today?”

Month 1 outcome:

Participants should be able to say:

“I understand my story. I understand what I have been carrying. And I am beginning to understand that my past does not have to determine my future.”

MONTH 2 — RELEASE

“I Have Paid for My Past.”

Month 2 is about emotional freedom.

The central philosophy is:

You have already paid for your past by living through it. You don’t have to keep paying for it every day.

Week 5 — Forgiveness

Theme: I release the debt.

Participants explore forgiveness toward:

  • Other people
  • Parents
  • Partners
  • Friends
  • Colleagues
  • Circumstances
  • Themselves

Important distinction:

Forgiveness does not mean saying what happened was acceptable.

It means deciding that the event will no longer own your emotional future.

Exercise:

The Forgiveness Letter

Participants write a letter to someone who hurt them.

They do not necessarily send it.

The purpose is release.

Week 6 — Forgiving Myself

Theme: I cannot build a new life while continually punishing myself for the old one.

Participants explore:

  • Mistakes
  • Bad decisions
  • Missed opportunities
  • Relationship failures
  • Words they wish they had never spoken
  • Things they wish they had done differently

Exercise:

The Self-Forgiveness Conversation

Participants write:

“Dear Me…”

and speak to themselves with the compassion they would offer someone they love.

Week 7 — Letting Go

Theme: What am I still holding that I need to put down?

Participants identify:

  • People they need to release
  • Old identities
  • Old beliefs
  • Old expectations
  • Old disappointments
  • Old definitions of success
  • Old versions of themselves

Exercise:

My Release List

Three columns:

I am carrying Why I carry it I choose to release

Week 8 — Making Peace With My Past

Theme: My past becomes part of my story—not the author of my future.

Participants create a new relationship with their history.

Instead of:

“Why did this happen to me?”

they begin asking:

“What can I learn from what happened to me?”

Instead of:

“I was broken by my past.”

they begin saying:

“I survived my past, learned from it, and can now choose differently.”

Month 2 outcome:

Participants should experience a growing sense of:

  • Emotional release
  • Self-compassion
  • Forgiveness
  • Acceptance
  • Responsibility
  • Peace

MONTH 3 — RECREATE

“Now I Get to Live.”

This is where the program moves from healing into intentional living.

The question is no longer:

“What happened to me?”

It becomes:

“What am I going to do with the life I have now?”

Week 9 — Who Am I Now?

Theme: I am more than my history.

Participants redefine themselves.

They explore:

  • Who am I?
  • What matters to me?
  • What do I believe?
  • What are my values?
  • What do I want?
  • What kind of person do I want to become?

Exercise:

My New Identity Statement

Participants complete:

“I am no longer defined by __________.
I choose to become __________.
I stand for __________.
I value __________.
I am committed to __________.”

Week 10 — Designing My Future

Theme: My future deserves my attention.

Participants create a vision for:

Relationships

What relationships do I want?

Work

What do I want to contribute?

Finances

What kind of financial life do I want?

Health

How do I want to care for myself?

Spirituality

What gives my life meaning?

Personal growth

Who am I becoming?

Exercise:

My 12-Month Vision

Participants create a vision for the next year.

Week 11 — Living Differently

Theme: A new life requires new choices.

Participants identify the behaviours that must change.

They create:

Stop

What must I stop doing?

Start

What must I start doing?

Continue

What is already working?

Release

What must I let go of?

Create

What must I build?

This becomes their Personal Transformation Plan.

Week 12 — My New Beginning

“I Have Paid for My Past. Now I Will Invest in My Future.”

The final session is a graduation and recommitment.

Participants review their entire journey:

Month 1:
I understood my story.

Month 2:
I released what I was carrying.

Month 3:
I began creating my future.

They then create their:

Personal Life Declaration

A written commitment to themselves about how they intend to live from this point forward.

THE 90-DAY MENTORSHIP STRUCTURE

I would recommend making this a 12-session program, with one mentorship session per week.

Each session could run for 60–90 minutes.

Every session follows the same structure:

1. Check-in — 10 minutes
What happened since our last session?

2. Teaching — 20 minutes
One principle from the book.

3. Reflection — 15 minutes
Deep personal questions.

4. Exercise — 20 minutes
Practical transformation exercise.

5. Commitment — 10 minutes
One action before the next session.

6. Closing — 5 minutes
A statement, affirmation, prayer or moment of reflection.

THE 90-DAY PARTICIPANT JOURNAL

Every participant should receive a workbook containing:

  • My Life Timeline
  • My Emotional Baggage Inventory
  • My Past Story
  • My Limiting Beliefs
  • My Forgiveness Letters
  • My Self-Forgiveness Exercise
  • My Release List
  • My Values
  • My New Identity
  • My Vision
  • My 12-Month Goals
  • My Transformation Plan
  • My Personal Life Declaration
  • Weekly reflection pages
  • Daily journal prompts

THE 3 CORE QUESTIONS

The entire mentorship can ultimately be reduced to three transformational questions:

1. WHAT HAPPENED?

Understanding the past.

2. WHAT AM I STILL CARRYING?

Releasing the past.

3. WHAT WILL I DO WITH THE LIFE I HAVE NOW?

Creating the future.

THE TRANSFORMATION

The participant begins the program saying:

“My past has made me who I am.”

By the end, they should be able to say:

“My past is part of my story, but it does not have to be the author of my future.”

And ultimately:

“I HAVE PAID FOR MY PAST BY LIVING IT.

I WILL NOT PAY FOR IT AGAIN BY WASTING MY FUTURE.”

That could become the central philosophy and signature transformation statement of the entire mentorship program.
