BECOME

30-Day Action Plan

Change who you believe you are, and you change what your life can become.

The next thirty days are not about trying to become somebody else.

They are about discovering who you have been believing yourself to be, deciding who you are willing to become, and then giving yourself daily evidence that your new identity is real.

Your identity influences your behaviour.

Your behaviour produces your results.

So if you want different results, you cannot only change what you do.

You must begin changing who you believe you are.

Your commitment

For the next 30 days:

  • I will become more conscious of the identity I am living from.
  • I will stop using my past as a permanent definition of who I am.
  • I will choose behaviours that support the person I want to become.
  • I will keep the promises I make to myself.
  • I will create evidence that my new identity is possible.
  • I will not demand perfection from myself.
  • I will focus on progress, consistency and intentionality.

WEEK ONE

DISCOVER WHO YOU HAVE BEEN

DAY 1 — Meet Yourself

Ask yourself:

Who have I believed myself to be?

Write down the words you would normally use to describe yourself.

Consider:

  • My strengths
  • My weaknesses
  • My fears
  • My insecurities
  • My abilities
  • My limitations
  • My relationships
  • My achievements
  • My failures

Then ask:

Which of these descriptions are actually true, and which have I simply repeated for so long that I believe them?

Today’s action:

Write one sentence beginning:

“I have been living as though I am…”

DAY 2 — Separate Yourself From Your Past

Your past has influenced you, but it does not have to define you.

Write down three experiences that have influenced the way you see yourself.

For each one ask:

What did I decide about myself because of this experience?

Then ask:

Is that decision still serving me?

Today’s action:

Choose one old conclusion about yourself that you are willing to reconsider.

DAY 3 — Identify Your Limiting Identity

Complete these sentences:

  • I am not the kind of person who…
  • I could never…
  • I am always…
  • I am terrible at…
  • People like me don’t…
  • I am too…
  • I am not enough because…

Now challenge each statement.

Ask:

Is this a fact—or is this an identity story?

Today’s action:

Take one limiting statement and rewrite it.

Instead of:

“I am not confident.”

Write:

“I am learning to become a confident person.”

DAY 4 — Identify Your Patterns

Look at your repeated behaviours.

What do you repeatedly do when you are:

  • Afraid?
  • Angry?
  • Rejected?
  • Stressed?
  • Tired?
  • Criticised?
  • Uncertain?

Your repeated behaviour provides evidence of the identity you currently inhabit.

Today’s action:

Identify three behaviours you want to change.

DAY 5 — Examine Your Results

Look honestly at your life.

Consider:

  • Relationships
  • Finances
  • Career
  • Health
  • Emotional wellbeing
  • Spiritual life
  • Personal growth
  • Confidence
  • Discipline

Ask:

What results am I currently producing?

Then ask the more important question:

What behaviours are producing these results?

DAY 6 — Find the Gap

Write two descriptions.

WHO I AM TODAY

Then:

WHO I WANT TO BECOME

Now identify the gap.

What is different between these two people?

Today’s action:

Choose the three biggest changes required to close that gap.

DAY 7 — Make the Decision

Today is decision day.

Complete this statement:

“From this day forward, I choose to become a person who…”

Write at least ten characteristics.

For example:

  • Keeps promises
  • Takes responsibility
  • Speaks honestly
  • Acts with courage
  • Looks after their body
  • Controls their reactions
  • Learns continuously
  • Loves intentionally
  • Finishes what they start
  • Believes growth is possible

Read your list aloud.

This is your first declaration of your new identity.

WEEK TWO

DESIGN WHO YOU WILL BECOME

DAY 8 — Create Your Future Identity

Imagine yourself three years from now.

You have become the person you want to be.

Ask:

Who is that person?

Describe them in detail.

How do they think?

How do they speak?

How do they treat people?

How do they handle difficulty?

How do they spend their time?

What do they no longer tolerate?

What do they believe?

Today’s action:

Write a one-page description titled:

“The Person I Am Becoming.”

DAY 9 — Choose Your Identity Words

Choose five words that describe the person you want to become.

For example:

Courageous. Disciplined. Loving. Healthy. Purposeful.

These become your identity anchors.

Today’s action:

Write your five words somewhere you will see them every morning.

DAY 10 — Define Your Standards

Identity becomes powerful when it creates standards.

Complete:

“A person like me…”

Then write ten statements.

Examples:

  • A person like me keeps their word.
  • A person like me tells the truth.
  • A person like me does difficult things.
  • A person like me takes responsibility.
  • A person like me finishes what they start.

Today’s action:

Choose your five non-negotiable standards.

DAY 11 — Change Your Language

Listen to yourself today.

Notice phrases such as:

“I can’t.”
“I’m just like this.”
“I’ve always been this way.”
“I’m not good enough.”
“I’ll never change.”

Replace them with language that reflects possibility.

Instead of:

“I can’t.”

Say:

“I haven’t learned how yet.”

Today’s action:

Catch yourself changing at least five identity statements.

DAY 12 — Keep One Promise

Make one small promise to yourself.

Something you can definitely accomplish today.

Then do it.

The goal is not the size of the achievement.

The goal is to create evidence:

I can trust myself.

Today’s action:

Make one promise. Keep it.

DAY 13 — Change Your Environment

Your environment constantly reinforces identity.

Look at:

  • People
  • Social media
  • Physical surroundings
  • Daily routines
  • Conversations
  • Entertainment
  • Information

Ask:

What in my environment reinforces the person I no longer want to be?

Today’s action:

Remove or reduce one influence that does not support your new identity.

DAY 14 — Build Your Identity Statement

Create a personal identity statement.

Use this structure:

“I am a person who…”

Include your values, standards, behaviours and direction.

Read it every morning for the remainder of the 30 days.

WEEK THREE

PROVE IT THROUGH ACTION

Understanding does not create transformation.

Action does.

This week is about creating evidence.

DAY 15 — Do Something You Have Been Avoiding

Fear strengthens an old identity when you continually obey it.

Choose one thing you have been avoiding.

Then take action.

It does not need to be completed.

You simply need to begin.

Today’s evidence:

I am capable of doing uncomfortable things.

DAY 16 — Practice Discipline

Choose one behaviour that requires discipline.

For example:

  • Exercise
  • Reading
  • Waking earlier
  • Completing a task
  • Eating intentionally
  • Limiting screen time
  • Keeping your workspace organised

Today’s action:

Do it even if you don’t feel like doing it.

DAY 17 — Act Before You Feel Ready

Stop waiting for confidence.

Confidence often comes after action, not before it.

Today’s action:

Do something today that you have been waiting to feel ready for.

DAY 18 — Take Responsibility

Identify one area of your life where you have been blaming:

  • Other people
  • Circumstances
  • Your past
  • Your environment
  • Bad luck

Ask:

What part of this belongs to me?

Today’s action:

Take responsibility for one thing you can control.

DAY 19 — Become Your Word

Today your focus is integrity.

If you say you will do something, do it.

If you cannot do it, communicate honestly.

Today’s action:

Keep every important promise you make today.

At the end of the day ask:

Can I trust myself?

DAY 20 — Change One Relationship Behaviour

Identity is revealed most clearly in relationships.

Choose one relationship behaviour to change.

Perhaps:

  • Listen instead of interrupting.
  • Speak instead of withdrawing.
  • Forgive instead of holding resentment.
  • Set a boundary instead of tolerating disrespect.
  • Express appreciation instead of assuming people know.

Today’s action:

Practise the new behaviour.

DAY 21 — Do Something That Proves Your New Identity

Look at your five identity words from Day 9.

Choose one.

Then ask:

What could I do today that would prove I am becoming this person?

Do it.

Write down what happened.

This is your evidence.

WEEK FOUR

BECOME

You have identified the old identity.

You have designed the new identity.

You have begun creating evidence.

Now you must begin living from it.

DAY 22 — Stop Negotiating With Your Old Identity

Notice the moments when your old identity tries to return.

“I can’t.”

“I’m not that person.”

“This is just who I am.”

“I always mess things up.”

Today, don’t argue with the thought.

Simply say:

“That may have been who I was. It is not who I am choosing to become.”

Then act differently.

DAY 23 — Make a Difficult Decision

There is probably something in your life you already know you need to change.

Today, make the decision.

It might involve:

  • A relationship
  • A habit
  • A commitment
  • A boundary
  • A career decision
  • Your health
  • Your finances
  • Your personal growth

Today’s action:

Make one decision your future self will thank you for.

DAY 24 — Create Your Morning Identity Ritual

From today forward, begin your day intentionally.

Spend five minutes asking:

Who am I today?

Read your identity statement.

Choose one behaviour that will demonstrate your identity.

Then ask:

What would the person I am becoming do today?

Do that.

DAY 25 — Create Your Evening Evidence Review

Before going to bed, ask:

  1. What did I do well today?
  2. Where did I behave according to my old identity?
  3. What did I learn?
  4. What evidence did I create that I am changing?
  5. What will I do differently tomorrow?

Do not use this exercise to criticise yourself.

Use it to become conscious.

DAY 26 — Forgive the Old You

You cannot become someone new while constantly hating the person you used to be.

Your former identity developed for reasons.

It may have protected you.

It may have helped you survive.

It may have been the best version of yourself you knew how to be at the time.

Today’s action:

Write a letter beginning:

“To the person I used to be…”

Thank them.

Forgive them.

Then release them.

DAY 27 — Act Like Your Future Self

For one entire day, consciously ask:

“If I were already the person I want to become, how would I handle this?”

Use that question when:

  • Someone irritates you.
  • You are tempted to quit.
  • You feel afraid.
  • You are criticised.
  • You have a difficult decision.
  • You don’t feel motivated.

Then behave accordingly.

DAY 28 — Create Your New Evidence List

Look back over the past 28 days.

Write down everything you have done that proves you are changing.

Even small things count.

You are building a new internal record.

Instead of saying:

“I am trying to change.”

You can begin saying:

“I have evidence that I am changing.”

DAY 29

CHOOSE YOUR NEXT CHAPTER

Today, look beyond the thirty days.

Ask:

If I continue living from this new identity for the next year, what could my life look like?

Write about:

  • My relationships
  • My health
  • My career
  • My finances
  • My confidence
  • My emotional life
  • My spiritual life
  • My contribution
  • My happiness
  • My sense of purpose

Then ask:

What would happen if I never went back to the person I used to believe I was?

Write the answer.

DAY 30

BECOME

This is not the end of the journey.

It is the beginning.

Read everything you have written during the last thirty days.

Then answer these final questions:

1. Who was I?

2. Who am I now?

3. Who am I becoming?

4. What old identity am I leaving behind?

5. What new identity am I choosing?

6. What behaviours must I continue?

7. What behaviours must I stop?

8. What standards will I now live by?

9. What promises will I make to myself?

10. What evidence will I continue creating?

Finally, complete this declaration:

I AM BECOMING…

Write your own statement.

Sign it.

Date it.

Then read it aloud.

THE 30-DAY BECOME COMMITMENT

I understand now that my results are not separate from who I believe myself to be.

I understand that my identity influences my behaviour, and my behaviour influences my results.

I cannot change my entire life overnight.

But I can change the decisions I make today.

I can change the way I speak to myself.

I can change the standards I accept.

I can change the behaviours I repeat.

I can change the promises I keep.

I can choose differently.

I can act differently.

And every time I do, I create new evidence about who I am.

I will not allow my past to become a permanent prison.

I will not confuse who I have been with who I am capable of becoming.

I will give myself permission to grow.

I will give myself permission to change.

I will give myself permission to become.

I am not finished.

I am becoming.

And the person I become will create the life I have yet to live.

THE BECOME FORMULA

Remember this:

Awareness → Choice → Action → Evidence → Identity → Results

Become conscious.

Choose intentionally.

Act consistently.

Create evidence.

Strengthen your identity.

And watch your results change.

Your life does not have to remain a reflection of who you have been.

It can become a reflection of who you choose to be.
