45 DAY LIFE STORY TEACHING COURSE: The Canvas of a Life – A Book by Gerald Crawford (2026)

THE 45-DAY LIFE STORY TEACHING COURSE

Rewrite the Story. Reclaim Your Life. Create Your Future.

What if the story you have been telling yourself about your life is not the whole story?

What if the experiences that shaped you do not have to determine where you go next?

What if you could understand your past, challenge the beliefs you developed along the way, and consciously begin writing a different chapter?

The 45-Day Life Story Teaching Course is an online teaching journey based on the powerful concepts explored in The Life Story We Tell.

Over 45 days, participants will be guided through seven online teaching sessions designed to help them understand their personal story, develop greater self-awareness, explore their beliefs and relationships, learn about forgiveness and letting go, and ultimately begin creating their next chapter.

This is not about forgetting the past.

It is about learning from it.

YOUR STORY MATTERS

Every one of us carries a story.

Our story contains our childhood, our family, our relationships, our successes, our failures, our disappointments, our dreams and the moments that changed us.

But there is an important distinction between what happened to us and the story we created about what happened.

Sometimes an experience becomes a belief.

A disappointment becomes, “I’m not good enough.”

A rejection becomes, “Nobody will ever love me.”

A failure becomes, “I can’t succeed.”

A painful relationship becomes, “I can’t trust anyone.”

Over time, these beliefs can become part of the identity we carry.

This course teaches participants to examine those stories with honesty, awareness and compassion.

WEEK 1: UNDERSTANDING YOUR STORY

Who Told You Who You Are?

The first session takes participants back to the beginning.

Where did your story come from?

Who influenced the way you see yourself?

What experiences shaped your identity?

Participants explore their childhood, family influences, significant relationships, successes, failures, losses and turning points.

They begin creating their own Life Story Timeline.

The objective is not to judge the past.

It is to understand it.

WEEK 2: WHEN A STORY BECOMES A BELIEF

Are Your Beliefs Still Serving You?

We all have beliefs about ourselves, other people and the world.

But not every belief we carry is necessarily true—or useful.

This session explores how experiences can become interpretations, interpretations can become beliefs, and beliefs can influence our behaviour.

Participants identify limiting beliefs and begin questioning whether those beliefs still belong in the next chapter of their lives.

The key question becomes:

“Is this a fact, or is this the story I have been telling myself about the fact?”

WEEK 3: THE POWER OF SELF-AWARENESS

Meet the Person Behind the Story

Change begins with awareness.

This session introduces participants to the importance of understanding their thoughts, emotions, reactions and behavioural patterns.

Participants learn to pause and observe themselves rather than automatically reacting to everything happening around them.

They are introduced to the simple:

STOP → THINK → OBSERVE → PROCEED

process.

For seven days, participants keep a self-awareness journal and begin noticing the stories that appear in their minds during everyday situations.

WEEK 4: FORGIVENESS AND LETTING GO

You Cannot Rewrite Yesterday—But You Can Change Tomorrow

Some chapters of our lives are painful.

Some contain regret.

Some contain anger.

Some contain things we wish had happened differently.

This session explores forgiveness—not as approval of what happened, but as a decision not to allow the past to continue controlling the future.

Participants explore forgiveness of others, forgiveness of themselves, resentment, guilt, shame and emotional baggage.

They complete a Letting-Go Inventory and identify what they are ready to stop carrying.

Because sometimes moving forward requires putting something down.

WEEK 5: RELATIONSHIPS AND THE STORIES WE CREATE

What Story Are You Telling About the People in Your Life?

Relationships can profoundly influence our personal stories.

The way we experience love, rejection, trust, conflict, belonging and abandonment can shape the way we see ourselves and others.

This session explores relationship patterns, expectations, communication, boundaries and the stories we create about the people around us.

Participants complete a Relationship Story Map.

They begin asking:

What story am I telling about this person?

What story am I telling about myself in this relationship?

Is that story helping me or holding me back?

WEEK 6: REWRITING YOUR STORY

Become the Author of Your Next Chapter

This is where the journey begins to move from awareness to conscious choice.

Participants learn about reframing their experiences and creating more empowering interpretations of their past.

The past does not change.

But the meaning we give the past can change.

Participants take one difficult chapter of their lives and examine it from three perspectives:

What happened?

What did I believe it meant?

What can it mean now?

They then begin writing their own New Story Statement.

WEEK 7: DON’T JUST REWRITE THE STORY—LIVE IT

Your Next Chapter Starts With Your Choices

Knowing what you want to change is only the beginning.

The final teaching session focuses on intentional living.

Participants explore:

  • Personal responsibility
  • Values
  • Purpose
  • Habits
  • Choices
  • Goals
  • Relationships
  • Personal growth
  • Future vision

They create their own Next Chapter Plan.

They decide what they are leaving behind, what they are taking forward and what they want to create.

DAYS 43–45: THE FINAL CHAPTER

The final three days bring the 45-day journey together.

Participants look back at where they started and ask:

“What do I see differently now?”

They complete their personal Life Story Statement, bringing together their experiences, lessons, beliefs, choices and vision for the future.

And then comes the most important realisation:

THE COURSE ENDS.

YOUR STORY DOES NOT.

Your life continues.

There will be new challenges.

New relationships.

New opportunities.

New decisions.

New chapters.

The goal is not to create a perfect life.

The goal is to become more conscious of the story you are writing while you are living it.

It is not the whole book.
