THE LIFE STORY WE TELL
3-Month Online Mentorship Programme
Rewrite the Story. Reweave the Life.
Every person has a story.
Your story is made up of experiences, relationships, successes, disappointments, choices, mistakes, victories, losses, dreams and lessons. Some chapters were beautiful. Some were painful. Some may still be difficult to understand.
But there comes a point in life when we have to ask ourselves an important question:
“Who is writing the next chapter?”
The Life Story We Tell Online Mentorship Programme is a three-month personal development journey designed to help you stop simply reacting to life and begin living with greater awareness, intention and purpose.
This is not a traditional online course where you simply watch videos and complete worksheets.
It is a personal online mentorship experience.
For three months, you will meet online with your mentor for one focused 10-minute mentorship conversation every week.
Ten minutes may not sound like much.
But ten minutes of focused reflection, honest conversation and intentional action can change the way you approach an entire week.
YOUR LIFE IS A STORY
Imagine your life as a piece of woven fabric.
Every experience is a thread.
Some threads are bright.
Some are dark.
Some are strong.
Some are tangled.
Some are threads you would happily choose again.
Others are threads you wish had never been part of your story.
But the beauty of a woven life is that one thread does not define the entire picture.
Your past is part of your story.
It does not have to become the definition of your future.
The mentorship programme is built around a simple idea:
You cannot always choose the threads life gives you, but you can learn to choose how you weave them into the next chapter.
WHY ONLINE MENTORSHIP?
Life is busy.
People have commitments, families, careers and responsibilities.
Finding hours every week for personal development can be difficult.
That’s why this programme has been deliberately designed around short, powerful online mentorship sessions.
You don’t need to spend an hour or two in a classroom.
You don’t need to travel.
You don’t need to rearrange your entire life.
Once a week, you connect online with your mentor for 10 focused minutes.
The purpose isn’t to overwhelm you with information.
The purpose is to give you one powerful thought, one meaningful question and one intentional action to take into the week ahead.
HOW THE PROGRAMME WORKS
The programme runs for 12 weeks — three months.
Each week includes:
10-MINUTE ONLINE MENTORSHIP SESSION
A focused conversation with your mentor.
ONE POWERFUL QUESTION
A question designed to encourage self-awareness and deeper reflection.
ONE NEW PERSPECTIVE
An opportunity to look at your life, your circumstances or your challenges differently.
ONE PRACTICAL ACTION
Something small and achievable that you can implement during the coming week.
WEEKLY ACCOUNTABILITY
At the beginning of each session, you reflect on the commitment you made during the previous week.
This creates a simple cycle:
Reflect → Understand → Choose → Act → Review
Then you begin again.
MONTH ONE
SEE YOUR STORY
The first month is about awareness.
Before you can change your direction, you need to understand where you are.
We explore the story you have been living, the experiences that have shaped you and the beliefs you have developed along the way.
WEEK 1 — What Chapter Are You In?
Every life has chapters.
The question is:
What chapter are you living right now?
Are you beginning something?
Ending something?
Recovering from something?
Growing?
Changing?
Or simply repeating an old chapter?
Your first exercise is to identify the chapter you are currently living.
WEEK 2 — The Threads You Didn’t Choose
Life sometimes gives us circumstances we never asked for.
We don’t choose every disappointment, rejection, loss, failure or difficult experience.
But we can choose what we do with those experiences.
This week asks:
“What happened to you that you never would have chosen?”
And then:
“What can you learn from it?”
WEEK 3 — The Story You Tell Yourself
Sometimes the greatest limitations in our lives aren’t created by circumstances.
They’re created by the stories we tell ourselves about those circumstances.
“I can’t.”
“I’m not good enough.”
“It’s too late.”
“I always fail.”
“People always hurt me.”
This week is about identifying those internal stories and asking:
“Is this actually true, or is this simply the story I have learned to tell?”
WEEK 4 — Change Your Perspective
Sometimes we cannot change the situation.
But we can change the way we look at it.
A difficult experience can look completely different when viewed from another perspective.
This week’s question is:
“What might I see if I looked at this situation differently?”
MONTH TWO
REWEAVE YOUR STORY
The second month moves from awareness into choice.
You begin to recognise that although you cannot control everything that happens in your life, you have more influence than you may realise.
You can choose your response.
You can choose your attitude.
You can choose your next step.
You can choose what you continue carrying.
And you can choose what you release.
WEEK 5 — What Is Within Your Control?
One of the greatest drains on our energy is trying to control things we cannot control.
This week we separate life into two categories:
What I cannot control.
What I can control.
Then we redirect our energy toward the second list.
The question is:
“What can I do about what is happening in my life right now?”
WEEK 6 — The Sandcastle
The sandcastle is a powerful metaphor for life.
We build.
We create.
We invest our time and energy.
And sometimes the tide comes and washes it away.
That doesn’t mean we failed.
It means that life changes.
Sometimes we have to accept that something has reached the end of its chapter.
Then we build again.
This week asks:
“What are you holding onto that you need to release?”
WEEK 7 — Finding Meaning
Every experience doesn’t necessarily make sense immediately.
But over time, we can sometimes discover meaning in what we have experienced.
This week we ask:
“What has your life been trying to teach you?”
Your experiences can become teachers.
Your mistakes can become lessons.
Your struggles can become sources of wisdom.
Your journey can become something you can use to help others.
WEEK 8 — Forgiving the Old Chapter
Forgiveness is not necessarily about saying that what happened was acceptable.
It is about refusing to allow the past to control the future.
Sometimes we carry people, experiences and memories long after the chapter has ended.
This week asks:
“What are you still carrying that you need to put down?”
You begin learning the difference between remembering something and continuing to live inside it.
MONTH THREE
CREATE YOUR STORY
The third month is about moving forward.
You have looked at your story.
You have examined your perspective.
You have identified what you can control.
You have started releasing what no longer serves you.
Now the question becomes:
“What happens next?”
WEEK 9 — Who Are You Becoming?
Life isn’t only about what you have accomplished.
It is also about who you are becoming.
This week asks:
“What kind of person do you want to become?”
What qualities do you want to develop?
Perhaps:
Courage.
Peace.
Compassion.
Wisdom.
Discipline.
Patience.
Faith.
Confidence.
Integrity.
You begin focusing less on simply achieving things and more on becoming the person capable of living the life you desire.
WEEK 10 — Write Your Next Chapter
What if you stopped waiting for your future to happen and started becoming intentional about creating it?
This week you begin writing your next chapter.
You explore:
- What do you want?
- What matters to you?
- Who do you want around you?
- What do you want to experience?
- What do you want to contribute?
- What do you want to stop doing?
Your future doesn’t have to be a continuation of your past.
WEEK 11 — Live Intentionally
A meaningful life isn’t created in one dramatic moment.
It is created through small decisions made every day.
This week is about moving from:
“I hope my life changes.”
to:
“What can I do today to create change?”
You choose one area of your life and identify one intentional action.
Small steps.
Consistent choices.
Real change.
WEEK 12 — What Story Will Your Life Tell?
The final week brings the journey together.
You look back at where you started.
You reflect on what you’ve learned.
You recognise what you’ve changed.
And then you ask the most important question of the programme:
“What story do I want my life to tell?”
Not:
“What happened to me?”
Not:
“Why did this happen?”
But:
“What will I do with the life I have?”
THIS IS NOT ABOUT BECOMING SOMEONE ELSE
The purpose of mentorship isn’t to turn you into somebody else.
It is to help you become more fully yourself.
You don’t need to have your entire life figured out.
You don’t need all the answers.
You don’t need to change everything at once.
You simply need to become willing to pause, reflect and ask better questions.
Sometimes one question can change your perspective.
One perspective can change a decision.
One decision can change a habit.
One habit can change a life.
THE POWER OF TEN MINUTES
Ten minutes a week may be all it takes to create a pause in your busy life.
Ten minutes to stop.
Ten minutes to think.
Ten minutes to reflect.
Ten minutes to be challenged.
Ten minutes to decide what matters.
Ten minutes to make a commitment to yourself.
The mentorship doesn’t end when the online meeting ends.
That’s where the real work begins.
You take the question into your week.
You take the perspective into your life.
You take the action into your day.
And the following week, you come back and reflect on what happened.
YOUR WEEKLY MENTORSHIP CONVERSATION
Each online meeting follows a simple structure.
1 minute — Check in
How are you really doing?
2 minutes — Accountability
What happened with last week’s commitment?
3 minutes — Reflection
What does this week’s question bring up for you?
2 minutes — Perspective
What could you see differently?
1 minute — Action
What is one thing you will do?
1 minute — Commitment
Complete the sentence:
“This week I will…”
Then you take that commitment into your life.
WHO IS THIS PROGRAMME FOR?
The programme is for anyone who feels that they are ready to look at their life differently.
It may be particularly valuable for someone who is:
- entering a new chapter of life;
- feeling stuck;
- wanting greater clarity;
- struggling to move beyond the past;
- looking for greater purpose;
- wanting to become more intentional;
- experiencing a major life transition;
- searching for personal growth;
- wanting accountability;
- or simply feeling that there must be more to life.
You don’t have to be broken to benefit from mentorship.
Sometimes you simply need someone to help you see what you cannot currently see for yourself.
WHAT YOU WILL TAKE AWAY
Over the three months, you will have the opportunity to develop:
Greater self-awareness
Understanding yourself and your current life chapter.
A healthier perspective
Learning to look at experiences from different angles.
Personal responsibility
Recognising what is within your control.
Emotional release
Beginning to let go of what no longer needs to control your future.
Greater clarity
Understanding what matters to you.
Intentional living
Making more conscious choices.
A vision for your next chapter
Creating a clearer picture of where you want to go.
Accountability
Turning intentions into actions.
THE FINAL MESSAGE
Your life is already telling a story.
The question is whether you are living that story intentionally.
Perhaps there are chapters you would rewrite if you could.
Perhaps there are things you would have done differently.
Perhaps there are experiences you wish had never happened.
But you cannot go back and rewrite yesterday.
What you can do is pick up the needle again.
Choose your thread.
Look at the pattern.
And begin weaving the next part of your story.
Because your story isn’t finished.
There is another chapter waiting to be written.
And perhaps the most important chapter of your life is not the one you’ve already lived.
Perhaps it is the one you are about to create.
