The Three Things That Matter
A New Book About What Really Matters in Life
We spend so much of our lives chasing things that we believe will make us happy.
More money. More success. More recognition. More possessions. More followers. More achievements.
We keep moving, achieving, accumulating and comparing—often without stopping long enough to ask one of the most important questions we could ever ask:
What really matters?
That question is at the heart of my new book, The Three Things That Matter.
This book is an invitation to stop for a moment and look at life differently.
Because somewhere along the way, many of us have become so busy trying to build a better life that we have forgotten to actually live the life we already have.
The problem isn’t that we don’t have enough
The modern world constantly tells us that we need more.
More success.
More money.
More experiences.
More security.
More recognition.
But there comes a point when we have to ask whether the pursuit of more is actually giving us more—or simply keeping us busy.
We can have a successful career and still feel empty.
We can have money and still lack peace.
We can have thousands of connections and still feel alone.
We can achieve our goals and discover that the goal wasn’t what we thought it would be.
The challenge is not always finding more.
Sometimes the challenge is recognising what we already have that matters most.
Why this book?
The Three Things That Matter was born from a simple realisation:
Life becomes clearer when we understand what deserves our attention.
We all have a limited amount of time, energy and attention.
The question is: Where are we spending them?
Because whatever receives our attention begins to shape our lives.
This book explores the things that deserve that attention.
It asks us to step back from the noise, the pressure and the expectations of the world and reconsider what we are building our lives around.
It is not a book about becoming more successful.
It is a book about becoming more intentional.
A different way of looking at life
One of the ideas running through this book is the importance of perspective.
Sometimes we look up at life and see only the weight of what is above us.
The responsibilities.
The problems.
The expectations.
The disappointments.
The things we still need to achieve.
And from that position, life can feel incredibly heavy.
But sometimes we are given the opportunity to step back and look from above.
Suddenly, we see the bigger picture.
We see how far we have come.
We see the people around us.
We see the moments we have taken for granted.
We see the things that money cannot buy.
And sometimes, when we change our perspective, we discover something remarkable:
The weight hasn’t necessarily changed. Our way of seeing it has.
That is one of the reasons this book exists.
To help us see again.
Three things can change the way you live
The title of the book is deliberately simple.
The Three Things That Matter.
Because sometimes the most profound truths aren’t complicated.
They are simply easy to forget.
The book challenges us to identify the things that genuinely deserve a place at the centre of our lives—and then to live accordingly.
Not tomorrow.
Not when we retire.
Not when we have enough money.
Not when everything is finally sorted out.
Now.
Because life doesn’t wait for us to get everything right before it continues.
Every day we are spending something we can never get back.
Every day we are making choices about what matters.
Every day we are deciding, consciously or unconsciously, what deserves our time, our attention and our love.
This book is for anyone who has ever stopped and wondered…
Is this really what life is about?
Why am I working so hard but still feeling that something is missing?
What will I wish I had spent more time on?
What really deserves my attention?
If I knew I had less time than I thought, would I live differently?
Am I busy living—or simply busy?
These aren’t easy questions.
But they are important questions.
And sometimes one honest question can change the direction of an entire life.
The invitation
The Three Things That Matter is not intended to tell you how to live your life.
It is an invitation to examine it.
To pause.
To reflect.
To reconsider.
To look at what occupies your time and your mind.
And perhaps most importantly, to ask yourself whether the things you are pursuing are actually the things that matter.
Because at the end of our lives, we may discover that the things we thought were important were never the things that mattered most.
The real measure of a life may not be found in what we accumulated, achieved or acquired.
It may be found in how we lived, who we loved, what we gave, and what we left behind in the lives of others.
The book is now launching
I am excited to introduce The Three Things That Matter to readers who are ready to look beyond the noise and rediscover what is truly important.
This is a book to read slowly.
A book to question.
A book to reflect on.
And perhaps a book to return to at different stages of your life—because what matters becomes clearer when our perspective changes.
My hope is that when you finish the final page, you won’t simply have read a book.
I hope you will look at your life differently.
Because we don’t get an unlimited number of days.
We don’t get unlimited opportunities.
And we don’t get to go back and live yesterday again.
So perhaps the most important question isn’t:
“How can I get more out of life?”
Perhaps the better question is:
“What deserves more of me?”
That is where the journey begins.
The Three Things That Matter.
Three things. One life. Make them count.
