Hypnotherapy Script: Love for the Divine, Self, and Others
Therapeutic focus: Divine love → self-love → love and compassion for others
Suggested use: Guided hypnotherapy session
Tone: Slow, compassionate, warm, reassuring, non-judgmental
Therapist note: Read slowly, allowing generous pauses after emotionally meaningful statements. The client should remain comfortable and never be pressured to accept a spiritual belief that does not resonate with them. Where appropriate, “the Divine” may be understood according to the client’s own faith or spiritual understanding.
Opening
And now, as you rest comfortably…
There is nothing you need to achieve right now.
Nothing you need to prove.
Nothing you need to fix.
For these next few moments, you can simply allow yourself to be here…
breathing…
resting…
listening to the sound of my voice…
And with every gentle breath, you can allow yourself to become more peaceful…
more present…
more open to the possibility of love.
Not a demanding love.
Not a love that requires perfection.
But a love that is compassionate…
patient…
kind…
understanding…
and accepting.
And today, we are going to gently explore three expressions of love.
Love for the Divine.
Love for yourself.
And then…
love for other people.
In that order.
Because there is something deeply meaningful about beginning with the source of love…
allowing that love to enter your own heart…
and then allowing it to flow through you toward others.
Take another slow, comfortable breath…
And allow yourself to settle even more deeply.
1. LOVE FOR THE DIVINE
And now…
bring your awareness gently toward the Divine…
toward God…
toward the sacred presence that you understand as greater than yourself.
You don’t have to force anything.
You don’t have to create a feeling.
Simply allow yourself to become aware…
of the possibility that you are held within something greater…
something loving…
something compassionate…
something that does not require you to be perfect before you are worthy of love.
And perhaps you can imagine…
that beneath all the noise of life…
beneath the mistakes…
beneath the disappointments…
beneath the things you wish you had done differently…
there is still love.
A love that remains.
A love that is patient.
A love that is merciful.
A love that calls you home.
And perhaps, in your own way, you can silently say:
“I open my heart to Divine love.”
Pause…
“I allow myself to receive love.”
Pause…
“I trust that I am not alone.”
Pause…
“I allow myself to be guided toward love.”
And as you breathe…
allow yourself to imagine that Divine love flowing gently into your heart…
not demanding…
not forcing…
simply present.
Like warmth.
Like light.
Like a quiet reassurance.
And perhaps you can sense…
that you don’t have to earn God’s love.
You don’t have to perform for it.
You don’t have to become somebody else to receive it.
You can simply become more open to it.
And as that awareness grows…
you may discover a deeper reverence…
a deeper gratitude…
a deeper tenderness toward life.
And perhaps you can say inwardly:
“Thank You for life.”
“Thank You for another opportunity to grow.”
“Thank You for another opportunity to love.”
“Use what I have learned.”
“Use what is good within me.”
“Help me become an instrument of love.”
And allow those words to settle deeply within you.
2. LOVE FOR THYSELF
And now…
having opened your heart toward Divine love…
bring that love gently toward yourself.
This is important.
Because you cannot continually give from a heart that you continually reject.
You can learn to care for yourself…
without becoming selfish.
You can respect yourself…
without becoming arrogant.
You can forgive yourself…
without excusing harmful behaviour.
You can acknowledge your mistakes…
without making yourself the mistake.
So now…
bring your awareness toward the person you have been throughout your life.
The younger you…
the confused you…
the frightened you…
the ambitious you…
the wounded you…
the imperfect you…
the person who sometimes made the wrong choices…
and the person who was simply doing the best they knew how to do at the time.
And imagine looking at yourself…
not with criticism…
but with compassion.
Perhaps you can say:
“I see you.”
“I understand you.”
“I forgive you.”
“I am learning to love you.”
“I choose to treat myself with kindness.”
And allow yourself to feel what those words mean.
You don’t need to love every decision you have ever made.
You don’t need to deny your mistakes.
You simply choose to stop using your mistakes as weapons against yourself.
From this moment forward…
you can learn from the past…
without living inside the past.
You can correct yourself…
without condemning yourself.
You can hold yourself accountable…
while still holding yourself with compassion.
And perhaps place your attention gently over your heart…
and imagine saying:
“I am worthy of kindness.”
“I am worthy of patience.”
“I am worthy of tenderness.”
“I am worthy of forgiveness.”
“I am worthy of love.”
Pause.
And now…
imagine becoming your own safe place.
A place where you can breathe.
A place where you can be honest.
A place where you can acknowledge what hurts.
A place where you can begin again.
And whenever you have been harsh with yourself…
allow that harshness to soften.
Whenever you have judged yourself…
allow understanding to replace judgment.
Whenever you have told yourself,
“I am not good enough,”
allow a new voice to emerge:
“I am growing.”
Whenever you have said,
“I cannot change,”
allow yourself to remember:
“I can learn.”
Whenever you have said,
“I am alone,”
remember:
“I can reach out.”
And whenever you have believed that your past defines you…
remember:
“My past can teach me, but it does not have to control me.”
Take a slow breath…
And allow self-compassion to become something you practise…
not merely something you understand.
3. LOVE FOR OTHER PEOPLE
And now…
from this place of Divine love…
and from this growing place of self-love…
allow your awareness to move outward.
Toward other people.
Family…
friends…
colleagues…
strangers…
and even people who have disappointed you.
And begin to recognise something important:
Every person you meet carries a story you may not know.
Every person has experienced things you may never have seen.
Every person has fears…
hopes…
wounds…
needs…
and struggles.
This does not mean that everything people do is acceptable.
It does not mean you abandon boundaries.
It does not mean you tolerate abuse.
Love can have boundaries.
Compassion can have wisdom.
Forgiveness does not require you to remain in harmful situations.
But you can choose to understand before you judge.
You can choose curiosity before condemnation.
You can choose compassion before reaction.
So imagine yourself becoming a little slower to judge…
and a little quicker to understand.
Before reacting, you can ask:
“What might this person be experiencing?”
“What might I not know?”
“What response would create the most healing?”
And perhaps you begin to recognise…
that tenderness is a strength.
Kindness is a strength.
Listening is a strength.
Patience is a strength.
Compassion is a strength.
And sometimes the greatest expression of love…
is simply to be present with another human being.
To listen without immediately correcting.
To understand without immediately judging.
To offer encouragement.
To speak gently.
To show patience.
To notice when someone is hurting.
To reach out when someone needs support.
And perhaps you can imagine yourself walking through your daily life…
carrying this awareness with you.
Seeing people differently.
Not merely asking,
“What can this person do for me?”
but sometimes asking:
“What can I do for this person?”
Not from obligation…
but from love.
Not to receive praise…
but because serving others can become an expression of the love already growing within you.
REPAIRING RELATIONSHIPS
And now…
allow your mind to gently bring to awareness the relationships in your life that need healing.
You do not have to force yourself to forgive anyone today.
You do not have to contact anyone.
You do not have to forget what happened.
Simply allow yourself to become open to healing.
Perhaps there are words that were never spoken…
apologies that were never offered…
misunderstandings that were never resolved…
or wounds that have remained tender for too long.
And imagine creating space around those memories.
Not denying them.
Not pretending they did not happen.
But allowing yourself to see them with greater wisdom.
And perhaps you can say:
“I release the need to carry this pain forever.”
“I choose healing.”
“I choose understanding.”
“I choose peace where peace is possible.”
And where appropriate…
you can become willing to take responsibility for your part.
Perhaps one day saying:
“I am sorry.”
Perhaps saying:
“I understand now.”
Perhaps saying:
“I should have listened.”
Perhaps saying:
“I forgive you.”
Or perhaps simply saying:
“I release you from the place you have occupied in my heart.”
And remember…
repair does not always mean returning to the relationship.
Sometimes repair means rebuilding trust.
Sometimes it means establishing healthy boundaries.
Sometimes it means having an honest conversation.
And sometimes healing means peacefully letting go.
Allow yourself the wisdom to know the difference.
THE HEART OF SERVICE
And now…
imagine the person you are becoming.
A person whose heart is increasingly guided by love.
A person who receives Divine love…
extends compassion toward the self…
and allows that compassion to flow toward others.
Imagine waking tomorrow morning with this intention:
“Today, let me be an expression of love.”
Let your words carry kindness.
Let your eyes carry tenderness.
Let your listening carry patience.
Let your actions carry compassion.
Let your boundaries carry wisdom.
Let your forgiveness carry freedom.
And let your service carry love.
You don’t have to change the entire world.
Sometimes love begins with one conversation.
One act of kindness.
One moment of patience.
One person being heard.
One person being forgiven.
One person being treated with dignity.
And perhaps that person…
is you.
INTEGRATION
And now allow all three dimensions of love to come together.
Love for the Divine.
Feel that connection.
Love for yourself.
Feel that compassion.
Love for others.
Feel that willingness to serve.
Divine love flowing inward…
self-love becoming stronger…
and love flowing outward toward others.
And perhaps imagine your heart as a source of light.
The Divine is the source…
you receive…
you heal…
you grow…
and then you give.
Receive…
heal…
grow…
give.
Receive…
heal…
grow…
give.
And let this become a pattern for your life.
Not perfection.
Progress.
Not judgment.
Understanding.
Not condemnation.
Compassion.
Not selfishness.
Healthy self-respect.
Not people-pleasing.
Loving service.
And whenever you notice yourself becoming critical…
pause.
Breathe.
And choose compassion.
Whenever you notice yourself judging another person…
pause.
Breathe.
And choose understanding.
Whenever you notice yourself becoming hard toward yourself…
pause.
Breathe.
And choose kindness.
And whenever you feel disconnected from love…
pause…
breathe…
and remember:
You can return to love.
Again and again.
POST-HYPNOTIC SUGGESTIONS
From this day forward…
you may find yourself becoming increasingly aware of the way you speak to yourself.
You may notice when criticism begins…
and choose compassion instead.
You may notice when judgment arises…
and choose curiosity instead.
You may notice when anger takes control…
and give yourself a moment to breathe before responding.
You may become more willing to listen.
More willing to understand.
More willing to apologise when necessary.
More willing to forgive when appropriate.
More willing to serve.
And each time you consciously choose love…
you strengthen that pathway within yourself.
The more you practise compassion…
the more natural compassion becomes.
The more you practise kindness…
the more naturally kindness emerges.
The more you practise understanding…
the more naturally understanding becomes part of you.
And perhaps, over time…
you discover that love is not merely something you feel.
It is something you practise.
Something you choose.
Something you embody.
Something you become.
AWAKENING — COUNTING 1 TO 10
And now…
the therapeutic work is complete.
Your unconscious mind can continue integrating whatever is useful…
while you return gradually to ordinary awareness.
In a moment, I will count from one to ten.
With each number, you can become more awake…
more alert…
more energised…
bringing with you the feelings of peace…
compassion…
love…
and inner strength.
One…
Begin returning gently to the room.
Two…
Becoming more aware of your body.
Three…
Feeling the surface beneath you.
Four…
Becoming aware of your hands and feet.
Five…
Breathing a little more deeply.
Six…
Allowing energy to return to your body.
Seven…
Becoming more alert and refreshed.
Eight…
Bringing back with you a sense of calm confidence.
Nine…
Almost fully awake now…
clear…
present…
peaceful.
Ten.
Eyes open when you are ready.
Fully awake.
Fully present.
Calm…
grounded…
and carrying with you this simple intention:
Love the Divine.
Love yourself.
Love others.
And let that love be expressed through the way you live…
the way you speak…
the way you listen…
the way you forgive…
and the way you serve.
Take one final, beautiful breath…
and welcome yourself fully back.
