Become the Phoenix
There comes a moment when you can no longer negotiate with the life that is calling you forward.
You become the phoenix.
You step into the fire—not because you want to suffer, but because you finally understand that some things cannot be carried into the next chapter of your life.
So you burn what needs to be burnt.
Burn the fear that has kept you small.
Burn the doubt that has told you that you are not enough.
Burn the old stories you have repeated until you believed they were your identity.
Burn the need for approval.
Burn the relationships that require you to abandon yourself.
Burn the habits that keep you returning to the same place.
Burn the version of yourself that was created simply to survive.
And then stand there.
In the fire.
Do not run from it.
The fire is not necessarily destroying you. Sometimes it is revealing you.
There is a difference between losing yourself and losing the version of yourself that was never truly you.
The phoenix does not rise because the fire was easy.
It rises because the fire finished its work.
There are seasons in life when transformation requires action. Not another conversation. Not another explanation. Not another promise that tomorrow will be different.
Now.
Do what needs to be done.
Say what needs to be said.
Release what needs to be released.
Forgive what needs to be forgiven.
Walk away from what needs to end.
Begin what you have been postponing.
Choose yourself where you have continually abandoned yourself.
The question is no longer:
“Why is this happening to me?”
The question becomes:
“What is this asking me to become?”
Perhaps this is your fire.
Perhaps this is the moment when the old identity finally becomes too small for the person you are becoming.
So step forward.
Not recklessly.
Not angrily.
Not from revenge.
But consciously.
With courage.
With faith.
With the willingness to let the unnecessary fall away.
Because you cannot rise as the phoenix while desperately protecting the ashes of your former life.
Let them burn.
And when the fire is finished, do not look back and ask why you had to lose so much.
Look at what remains.
Look at who you have become.
Stronger.
Wiser.
Freer.
More honest.
More awake.
And then spread your wings.
Your life is waiting for you.
Step into the fire.
Do what needs to be done.
Burn what needs to be burnt.
And rise.
