Your responsibilitys

Accepting responsibility for your own life.

Being a functioning adult means accepting responsibility for your own life. While God, family, friends, and community can support you, they cannot live your life for you. Scripture teaches both dependence on God and personal responsibility.

No one is coming to save you (in the sense of solving all your daily problems for you). A mature adult understands:

  • Take responsibility for your choices. “Each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.” (Romans 14:12)
  • Work diligently instead of waiting to be rescued. “If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.” (2 Thessalonians 3:10)
  • Develop self-control and discipline. “Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control.” (Proverbs 25:28)
  • Face difficulties with courage rather than avoidance. “Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
  • Learn from mistakes, repent when necessary, and keep moving forward.
  • Care for your responsibilities—your health, finances, relationships, and spiritual life.
  • Serve others instead of expecting others to carry your burdens all the time.

From a Christian perspective, there is one important distinction: Jesus Christ saves us spiritually from sin and death (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8–9). But after receiving His grace, believers are called to grow into spiritual maturity and faithfully carry out the responsibilities God has entrusted to them.

A concise way to say it is:

Being a functioning adult means taking ownership of your life, accepting responsibility for your choices, doing the work that needs to be done, seeking God’s wisdom, and becoming someone others can depend on rather than constantly waiting for someone to rescue you.

My Personal Motto Is: With experience and study comes insight with insight come wisdom with wisdom comes moments of absolute clarity, transcendence then follows.
