Over the years, I have i to understand three simple truths about people.
1. If people truly want to be in your life, they will be.
Real care is demonstrated through consistent actions, not empty promises. People who value you make time for you, stay in touch, and find ways to remain present in your life. You should never have to chase someone to convince them to care.
2. If people genuinely want to change, they will.
Lasting change begins with a personal decision. Advice, encouragement, and support can help, but no one can change another person against their will. When someone accepts responsibility for their life and commits to growth, change becomes possible.
3. If people truly want to be happy, they must choose happiness.
Happiness is not something another person can give you. Relationships, success, or possessions may add joy to your life, but they cannot create lasting happiness within you. Real happiness grows from gratitude, purpose, acceptance, and the daily choices you make. No one else is responsible for your peace of mind—you are.
These three truths remind us to stop trying to control others and instead focus on what we can control: our own choices, our own character, and our own response to life. When we accept this, we experience greater peace, healthier relationships, and the freedom to invest our energy where it truly matters.
