Book Premise: BECOME: The Identity Behind Your Results – A Book by Gerald Crawford (2026). – Change who you believe you are, and you change what your life can become.

The Premise of BECOME

Most people spend their lives trying to change their results without first changing the person producing those results.

They set new goals. They make resolutions. They change their habits. They work harder, think more positively, read more books and search for better strategies. Yet, despite all their effort, they often find themselves returning to the same patterns, making the same choices and experiencing the same outcomes.

Why?

Because behaviour follows identity.

And results follow behaviour.

The fundamental premise of BECOME is simple:

Identity → Behaviour → Results.

What you believe about yourself influences how you think, how you behave, the decisions you make, the risks you take, the opportunities you recognise, the relationships you tolerate and ultimately the results you create.

If you continue to see yourself as the person you have always been, you will naturally continue to behave in ways that are consistent with that identity. And when the behaviour remains the same, the results are likely to remain the same as well.

The problem is that most people attempt to change their lives from the outside in. They focus on changing what they do while continuing to believe they are the same person on the inside.

BECOME challenges that approach.

The book invites you to stop asking only:

“What do I need to do differently?”

and begin asking:

“Who do I need to become?”

Because lasting transformation does not begin with a new behaviour. It begins with a new understanding of who you are.

Your past may have influenced your identity, but it does not have to determine your future identity. The labels you have accepted, the failures you have experienced, the opinions others have formed about you, the mistakes you have made and the stories you have told yourself may have shaped the person you have become—but they do not have to define the person you become next.

BECOME is therefore not simply a book about changing habits or achieving goals.

It is an exploration of identity.

It asks you to examine the invisible beliefs that have been directing your visible life. It challenges you to recognise where you have unconsciously been living from an outdated version of yourself and encourages you to deliberately construct an identity that is aligned with the life you want to create.

The central question is not:

“What results do I want?”

It is:

“What kind of person consistently produces those results?”

Once you can answer that question, you can begin the process of becoming that person.

You don’t simply change what you do.

You change who you believe you are.

And when your identity changes, your behaviour begins to change.

When your behaviour changes, your results begin to change.

Ultimately, BECOME is an invitation to stop carrying yesterday’s identity into tomorrow and then wondering why tomorrow looks so much like yesterday.

You cannot consistently create a new life while remaining committed to an old identity.

The future requires a different version of you.

The question is:

Who are you willing to become?
