THE SEVEN-WEEK HEALING JOURNEY
A Practical Journey from Survival to Self-Connection
Based on the Wisdom of the Book
Facilitated by Gerald Crawford
The Journey
Healing is not about becoming someone different.
It is about returning to yourself.
Over seven weeks, we journey through the seven primary chakras, using each chakra as a doorway into a different dimension of our lives.
The journey moves from survival to safety, from emotion to choice, from power to purpose, from protection to connection, from expression to truth, from thinking to awareness, and ultimately from separation to a deeper sense of wholeness.
Each week combines:
- Teaching
- Self-reflection
- Guided healing
- Practical exercises
- Journaling
- Meditation
- Emotional release
- Daily practices
- Conscious choices
- Integration
The objective is not simply to understand the chakras.
The objective is to use their wisdom to change the way we live.
WEEK ONE
ROOT — I AM SAFE
Theme: Safety, Survival & Belonging
The first chakra is associated with our relationship to safety, stability, survival, family, belonging and the physical world.
Many of the patterns we carry began as attempts to survive.
We learned how to protect ourselves.
We learned how to anticipate danger.
We learned how to hold on.
We learned how to run.
We learned how to fight.
But a pattern that once protected us may eventually become a pattern that limits us.
This Week’s Question
What am I still doing to survive that I no longer need to do?
Teaching
Participants explore the difference between:
What happened to me
and
what I learned from what happened to me.
They begin to recognize that survival patterns are not necessarily flaws.
They are adaptations.
The healing begins when we become aware of them.
Healing Exercise
Create a Personal Survival Map.
Write down:
- What makes me feel unsafe?
- What do I do when I feel unsafe?
- Do I fight, flee, freeze or please?
- What situations trigger these responses?
- Where did I learn this pattern?
- Is this pattern still necessary?
- What would safety feel like in my body?
Daily Practice
Every morning place both feet firmly on the ground.
Take five slow breaths and say:
I am here.
I am safe in this moment.
I do not have to solve my entire life today.
I can meet this moment one breath at a time.
Journal Prompt
Where in my life am I living from survival rather than choice?
Week-One Healing Outcome
Participants begin recognizing that:
“I survived” does not have to become “I must always survive.”
WEEK TWO
SACRAL — I AM ALIVE
Theme: Emotion, Pleasure, Creativity & Relationships
The second chakra invites us into our emotional world.
Here we explore our relationship with:
- Feelings
- Pleasure
- Intimacy
- Creativity
- Desire
- Relationships
- Emotional boundaries
Many people were taught to suppress emotion.
Others became overwhelmed by emotion.
Healing involves learning to feel without becoming controlled by what we feel.
This Week’s Question
What emotions have I learned not to feel?
Teaching
Participants learn the difference between:
Feeling an emotion
and
becoming the emotion.
An emotion is information.
It does not necessarily have to become an instruction.
Healing Exercise: The Emotional Wheel
Each day identify three things:
What am I feeling?
Where do I feel it in my body?
What does this feeling need me to understand?
Do not immediately try to change the feeling.
Simply observe it.
Relationship Reflection
Ask:
- Who am I when I am in a relationship?
- Do I lose myself to keep someone else?
- Do I confuse love with approval?
- Where do I compromise myself?
- What boundaries do I need?
- What kind of relationships nourish me?
Healing Exercise
Write two lists:
Things that drain me
and
Things that nourish me.
Then ask:
Why am I continuing to give energy to what drains me?
Daily Practice
Do one thing every day simply because it brings you joy.
No productivity requirement.
No achievement requirement.
Just experience.
Journal Prompt
What would I allow myself to experience if I stopped judging my emotions?
Week-Two Healing Outcome
Participants begin moving from:
“I must control my feelings.”
to:
“I can feel my feelings and choose how I respond.”
WEEK THREE
SOLAR PLEXUS — I CHOOSE
Theme: Personal Power, Boundaries & Choice
This week introduces one of the central teachings of the book:
Awareness creates choice.
We may not choose everything that happens to us.
But awareness gives us the possibility of choosing what we do next.
The Journey
I survived.
I adapted.
I developed patterns.
I became aware.
I discovered choice.
And now I choose.
This Week’s Question
Where have I given my power away?
Teaching
Participants explore the difference between:
Responsibility
and
blame.
Responsibility asks:
What is my part?
Blame asks:
Whose fault is this?
Healing becomes possible when we stop using blame to avoid responsibility.
The Chair Exercise
Place an empty chair in front of you.
Imagine that the chair represents a role you have been sitting in.
Perhaps:
- Victim
- People pleaser
- Rescuer
- Controller
- Perfectionist
- Caregiver
- Angry person
- Abandoned person
- Rejected person
Ask:
Is this still the chair I choose to sit in?
Then physically stand up.
Move to another chair.
Say:
I can choose where I sit.
Daily Choice Practice
Every day identify one situation where you normally react automatically.
Pause.
Take one breath.
Ask:
What are my choices here?
Then deliberately choose your response.
Journal Prompt
If I stopped blaming circumstances, other people and my past for one day, what would I discover about my own power?
Week-Three Healing Outcome
Participants discover:
My patterns may explain me, but they do not have to define me.
WEEK FOUR
HEART — I CONNECT
Theme: Love, Forgiveness, Compassion & Connection
The heart is where the journey turns inward and outward simultaneously.
We begin exploring our relationship with:
- Ourselves
- Other people
- Forgiveness
- Compassion
- Grief
- Connection
- Love
This Week’s Question
What am I still carrying that I am ready to put down?
Teaching
Forgiveness is explored not as approval of what happened, but as a decision about what we choose to carry forward.
Participants examine the difference between:
Remembering
and
continuing to live inside the memory.
Healing Exercise: The Burden
Write down everything you are carrying emotionally.
People.
Events.
Regrets.
Resentments.
Guilt.
Anger.
Unspoken words.
Then ask:
Do I still need to carry this?
The Forgiveness Process
Participants work through:
- What happened?
- What did I feel?
- What did I make it mean?
- What did I learn?
- What am I still carrying?
- What am I ready to release?
- What do I choose to carry forward instead?
Self-Compassion Exercise
Place your hand over your heart.
Say:
I did the best I could with what I knew at the time.
Now I know more.
Now I can choose differently.
Daily Connection Practice
Every day make one genuine connection.
A conversation.
A hug.
A message.
A thank-you.
An apology.
A moment of presence.
Journal Prompt
Where have I protected myself from being hurt by also preventing myself from being connected?
Week-Four Healing Outcome
Participants begin understanding:
Protection can prevent pain, but it can also prevent connection.
WEEK FIVE
THROAT — I SPEAK MY TRUTH
Theme: Communication, Authenticity & Expression
Many people live lives that are shaped by things they never say.
This week explores the relationship between:
- Truth
- Communication
- Boundaries
- Authenticity
- Listening
- Expression
This Week’s Question
What truth am I afraid to speak?
Teaching
Participants explore three different voices:
The voice of fear
The voice of conditioning
The voice of truth
They learn to pause before speaking and ask:
Is this true for me?
Is it necessary?
Can I communicate it with compassion?
Healing Exercise: The Unspoken Letter
Write a letter to someone you have something unresolved with.
Say everything you have never said.
Do not send the letter.
The purpose is expression.
Then write a second letter:
What do I actually need to communicate now?
Boundary Exercise
Complete:
I am willing to…
I am no longer willing to…
I need…
I choose…
I will communicate…
Daily Practice
Speak one authentic truth every day.
It does not need to be dramatic.
It might simply be:
“I don’t want to do that.”
“I need some time.”
“That hurt me.”
“I appreciate you.”
“I need help.”
Journal Prompt
Where am I betraying myself by saying yes when I mean no?
Week-Five Healing Outcome
Participants learn that authenticity is not about saying everything.
It is about not abandoning yourself while communicating with others.
WEEK SIX
THIRD EYE — I SEE
Theme: Awareness, Beliefs, Perception & Wisdom
This week moves from expression into observation.
We begin asking:
What if the way I see the world is not the world itself?
Our experiences are influenced by:
- Beliefs
- Memories
- Expectations
- Fear
- Conditioning
- Assumptions
- Previous experiences
This Week’s Question
What am I seeing through the lens of my past?
Teaching
Participants explore the difference between:
What happened
and
the story I created about what happened.
The Story Exercise
Choose one difficult event.
Write:
What happened?
Then:
What did I believe it meant?
Then:
What else could it mean?
Then:
What do I choose to believe now?
Pattern Recognition
Participants identify recurring patterns in:
- Relationships
- Work
- Money
- Conflict
- Self-worth
- Decision-making
Then ask:
What keeps repeating?
What part do I play in the repetition?
What am I now aware of that I wasn’t aware of before?
Daily Awareness Practice
Three times a day stop and ask:
What am I thinking?
What am I feeling?
What am I doing?
Is this conscious or automatic?
Journal Prompt
What truth becomes visible when I stop defending the story I have been telling myself?
Week-Six Healing Outcome
Participants begin moving from:
Reaction
to
Observation
and from:
Observation
to
Choice.
WEEK SEVEN
CROWN — I AM CONNECTED
Theme: Integration, Meaning, Spirit & Wholeness
The final week is not about escaping life.
It is about becoming more fully present within it.
The journey now comes together.
Safety.
Emotion.
Choice.
Love.
Truth.
Awareness.
Connection.
This Week’s Question
Who am I when I no longer need to be defined by my past?
Teaching
Participants review the entire journey.
They explore the movement from:
Survival → Awareness → Choice → Connection → Integration
The goal is not perfection.
The goal is consciousness.
The Seven-Chakra Life Review
Participants reflect:
ROOT
Where do I need greater safety?
SACRAL
What do I need to feel?
SOLAR PLEXUS
What do I need to choose?
HEART
What do I need to love or release?
THROAT
What do I need to say?
THIRD EYE
What do I need to see differently?
CROWN
What do I need to understand about my connection to life?
THE FINAL HEALING EXERCISE
The Seven Chairs
Place seven chairs in a room.
Each chair represents one chakra.
Participants move through each chair slowly.
At each chair they answer one question.
Chair One — ROOT
What makes me feel safe?
Chair Two — SACRAL
What am I ready to feel?
Chair Three — SOLAR PLEXUS
What am I ready to choose?
Chair Four — HEART
What am I ready to release or embrace?
Chair Five — THROAT
What truth am I ready to express?
Chair Six — THIRD EYE
What am I ready to see?
Chair Seven — CROWN
What am I ready to understand?
At the final chair, participants sit quietly.
Then ask:
Where do I choose to sit in my life from this day forward?
THE FINAL INTEGRATION
Participants create their own Healing Declaration.
They complete:
I am no longer willing to sit in…
I am ready to sit in…
I am no longer carrying…
I am ready to carry…
I am no longer allowing…
I am ready to allow…
I am no longer choosing from fear…
I am ready to choose from awareness…
And finally:
I survived.
I adapted.
I developed patterns.
I became aware.
I discovered choice.
And now I choose.
DAILY SEVEN-WEEK PRACTICE
Throughout the entire program, participants follow a simple daily ritual.
MORNING — CONNECT
Ask:
How do I want to show up today?
MIDDAY — CHECK IN
Ask:
Am I responding consciously or reacting automatically?
EVENING — REFLECT
Ask:
Where did I choose well today?
Where did I return to an old pattern?
What did today teach me?
BEFORE SLEEP
Take seven slow breaths.
With each breath, bring awareness to one chakra.
Then say:
I release today.
I receive the lesson.
I keep the wisdom.
I let go of what I no longer need.
THE SEVEN-WEEK COMMITMENT
Participants commit to seven principles:
WEEK 1
I will become aware of my survival patterns.
WEEK 2
I will allow myself to feel.
WEEK 3
I will recognize my ability to choose.
WEEK 4
I will open myself to connection.
WEEK 5
I will honour my truth.
WEEK 6
I will question the stories that shape my perception.
WEEK 7
I will live with greater awareness and connection.
PROGRAM FORMAT
This can be delivered as a seven-week facilitated healing program.
Each weekly session
Opening grounding — 10 minutes
Teaching — 20 minutes
Guided healing exercise — 20 minutes
Personal reflection — 15 minutes
Group discussion — 20 minutes
Integration practice — 10 minutes
Closing meditation — 5 minutes
Total: approximately 100 minutes
Participants then receive their daily practice for the following week.
THE PROMISE OF THE JOURNEY
This program does not promise to erase someone’s past.
Instead, it teaches participants to develop a different relationship with it.
The past may explain where we learned our patterns.
Awareness helps us recognize them.
Choice gives us the opportunity to change them.
And conscious living allows us to create something different.
The ultimate message of the seven-week journey is simple:
You may not have chosen everything that happened to you.
But you can become conscious of what you choose to do with it.
And perhaps the most important question of all is:
Where are you sitting in your life?
Because sometimes healing begins when we finally realize:
We have been sitting in a chair we were never meant to occupy.
And we are allowed to stand up.
We are allowed to choose another chair.
We are allowed to choose another way of living.
We are allowed to choose ourselves.
That is the beginning of healing.
