You Only Have So Much Time Book – Questions & Answers for a Radio Interview

10 Questions & Answers for a Radio Interview

1. What is your new book, You Only Have So Much Time, about?

Answer:
The book is about two things we all have in common: time and health. They are two of the most valuable things we possess, yet they are often the things we take for granted. My message is simple: you cannot buy yesterday back, and you cannot always buy your health back. We need to learn to value both while we still have them.

2. Why did you feel this book needed to be written?

Answer:
I believe many people spend their lives chasing money, possessions and success while neglecting the very things that make life possible. We keep saying, “One day I will have more time,” or “One day I will look after myself.” But one day is not guaranteed. I wanted to encourage people to become intentional about how they use their time and how they care for their health.

3. What do you mean when you say that time cannot be replaced?

Answer:
If you lose money, you may be able to earn it again. If you lose a possession, you may be able to replace it. But when an hour has passed, it is gone forever. None of us knows exactly how much time we have left, so the question becomes: what are we doing with the time we have today?

4. Why do you put time and health together?

Answer:
Because they are deeply connected. We need time to live, but we also need health to enjoy that time. Having plenty of years ahead means very little if we have neglected our physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. The goal isn’t simply to live longer; it is to make the time we have meaningful and worthwhile.

5. Is the book about telling people to slow down?

Answer:
Not necessarily. It is more about becoming intentional. Sometimes we need to slow down, but sometimes we need to stop wasting time and start taking action. I want people to ask themselves, “What matters most to me, and am I actually giving my time to those things?”

6. What are some of the biggest ways people waste their time?

Answer:
We can waste enormous amounts of time worrying about things we cannot control, living in the past, trying to please everyone, staying in unhealthy relationships, constantly seeking approval, and spending hours on distractions that add little value to our lives. Time becomes precious when we realise that every day we spend is one less day available to us.

7. What role does personal responsibility play in the book?

Answer:
A very important role. We cannot control everything that happens to us, but we can take responsibility for many of the choices we make. We can choose what we put into our minds, what we put into our bodies, how we treat ourselves, how we use our time and who we allow to influence our lives.

8. What would you say to someone who keeps postponing taking care of themselves?

Answer:
I would say: don’t wait for a crisis to teach you what you should have valued all along. Your health deserves attention today. Get enough sleep, move your body, eat well, manage your stress, protect your mind and make time for the people and things that truly matter. Small choices repeated every day can make a tremendous difference.

9. What is the biggest message you hope readers take from the book?

Answer:
I want readers to realise that their life is happening now. Not yesterday, and not someday in the future. Today. We should stop waiting for the perfect circumstances before we start living. Use your time wisely, take care of your health, appreciate the people you love and make your life count.

10. If you could leave radio listeners with just one thought from your book, what would it be?

Answer:
I would say this: You only have so much time, and you don’t know how much that is. So don’t waste what you have. Protect your health, value your relationships, use your time intentionally and start living the life you keep telling yourself you will live one day.
