Dear God,
I come to you with a heart that’s heavy with guilt and shame. I recognize that I’ve made mistakes and hurt others, and I’m seeking your forgiveness.
Help me to forgive myself and others, just as you have forgiven me. Give me the ability to let go of resentment and bitterness, and to release the burdens of unforgiveness.
Remind me that your forgiveness is not based on my worthiness, but on your love and mercy. Help me to understand that I am forgiven, and that I can extend that same forgiveness to others.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Prayer for Forgiveness of Others:
Dear God,
I’m struggling to forgive [name of person]. Help me to let go of my hurt and anger, and to release them from the debt they owe me.
Give me the ability to see them through your eyes, and to understand that they are also a child of God, deserving of love and forgiveness.
Help me to forgive them, not for their sake, but for mine. May forgiveness bring healing and freedom to my heart, and may it reflect your love and mercy to those around me.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
