Here is as a complete 45-day online Healing of the Heart course based on your Book of Love—not the separate You Are Not Broken project.
45-DAY HEALING OF THE HEART
An Online Journey from Hurt, Pain and Emotional Wounds to Love, Forgiveness, Freedom and Wholeness
Course format: 45 days
Delivery: Online / self-paced with optional coaching support
Daily commitment: 20–40 minutes
Core approach: Teaching • Reflection • Journaling • Practical exercises • Emotional healing • Forgiveness • Self-awareness • Love • Personal transformation
COURSE PURPOSE
The heart carries the stories of our lives.
It carries the love we have received, the love we have given, the disappointments we have experienced, the rejection we have endured, the relationships we have lost, the words that wounded us, the mistakes we regret and the people we have struggled to forgive.
Sometimes the heart does not need another relationship.
It needs healing.
The 45-Day Healing of the Heart course takes participants on a gradual journey of understanding their emotional wounds, confronting unresolved pain, releasing resentment, learning forgiveness, rebuilding self-worth and rediscovering the capacity to love.
The goal is not to erase the past.
The goal is to stop the past from controlling the future.

2. Heart Reflection
Questions that encourage the participant to look honestly within.
3. Journaling
Written exercises designed to bring awareness to emotions, memories and beliefs.

A practical activity for processing the day’s theme.
5. Heart Declaration
A statement the participant reads aloud.
6. Daily Action
One practical action to implement during the day.
7. Evening Reflection
Three questions to complete before going to sleep.
STAGE 1 — UNDERSTANDING THE HEART
DAY 1 — YOUR HEART HAS A STORY
Teaching:
Every person carries a story. Some chapters contain love, others loss, rejection, betrayal, disappointment and pain.
Healing begins when we become willing to acknowledge our story rather than hide from it.
Reflection questions:
- What has shaped the person I am today?
- What experiences have affected my heart most deeply?
- What emotional pain am I still carrying?
- What would I like to heal during these 45 days?
Exercise:
Write your life story in three chapters:
- Where I came from
- What happened to me
- Where I want to go
Declaration:
“My story matters, but my past does not have to determine my future.”
DAY 2 — WHAT IS A WOUNDED HEART?
Explore the difference between physical pain and emotional pain.
Discuss wounds caused by:
- rejection
- abandonment
- betrayal
- criticism
- humiliation
- disappointment
- grief
- loss
- broken relationships
- unmet expectations
- shame
- loneliness
Exercise: Create your Heart Wound Inventory.
Identify the experiences that still carry emotional energy.
DAY 3 — WHEN WE LEARN TO PROTECT OUR HEART
People develop emotional protection mechanisms.
These may include:
- withdrawing
- becoming emotionally unavailable
- controlling
- people-pleasing
- anger
- distrust
- perfectionism
- avoidance
- blaming
- becoming overly independent
Exercise:
Complete:
“When I am afraid of being hurt, I tend to…”
Then ask:
“What am I actually trying to protect?”
DAY 4 — THE MASK WE WEAR
Teach participants about the difference between their authentic self and the person they present to the world.
Explore:
“What do people see when they look at me, and what do they not see?”
Exercise:
Two-column journal:
The person people see | The person I really am
DAY 5 — CREATING YOUR HEALING INTENTION
Participants establish their personal intention for the 45 days.
Exercise: My Healing Contract
Complete:
“Over the next 45 days, I am willing to…”
Include commitments to:
- honesty
- vulnerability
- self-reflection
- forgiveness
- compassion
- personal responsibility
- change
STAGE 2 — DISCOVERING THE WOUNDS
DAY 6 — REJECTION
Explore how rejection can influence self-worth and relationships.
Journal:
- Where have I experienced rejection?
- What did I make that rejection mean about me?
- Is that belief actually true?
Healing exercise:
Separate what happened from what you concluded about yourself.
DAY 7 — ABANDONMENT
Explore emotional abandonment and the fear of being left.
Discuss how abandonment can create:
- insecurity
- jealousy
- dependency
- fear of intimacy
- fear of commitment
Exercise:
Write a compassionate letter to the younger version of yourself who felt abandoned.
DAY 8 — BETRAYAL
Explore what betrayal does to trust.
Participants identify:
- who they trusted
- what happened
- what they lost
- what they learned
- what they still carry
Key teaching:
Forgiveness does not mean pretending betrayal did not happen.
DAY 9 — GRIEF AND LOSS
Not all grief comes from death.
We can grieve:
- people
- relationships
- marriages
- friendships
- opportunities
- dreams
- versions of ourselves
Exercise:
“What am I grieving that I have never properly allowed myself to grieve?”
DAY 10 — THE PAIN WE NEVER TALK ABOUT
Explore hidden pain.
Participants identify something they have never expressed.
Exercise:
Write:
“If I could finally say everything I have been afraid to say, I would say…”
This is private journaling and does not necessarily need to be shared with anyone.
STAGE 3 — UNDERSTANDING YOURSELF
DAY 11 — KNOWING YOUR EMOTIONS
Teach emotional awareness.
Participants learn to distinguish:
Event → Thought → Emotion → Reaction → Consequence
Exercise:
Complete an emotional awareness worksheet for three recent situations.
DAY 12 — WHAT TRIGGERS YOU?
Identify emotional triggers.
Participants create a:
Personal Trigger Map
| Trigger | Emotion | Reaction | Underlying wound |
|---|
DAY 13 — THE STORIES WE TELL OURSELVES
Explore limiting beliefs such as:
- “I’m not enough.”

“Things I once loved were…”
“Parts of myself I want to reclaim are…”
STAGE 4 — RELEASING THE PAST
DAY 16 — YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE PAST
Teach the difference between:
Acceptance and approval.
Accepting that something happened does not mean saying that it was right.
Exercise:
Write:
“I cannot change…”
“But I can choose…”
DAY 17 — STOP CARRYING WHAT IS NOT YOURS
Some people carry responsibility for:
- other people’s choices
- other people’s emotions

“I acknowledge what happened. I honour what I felt. I accept what I cannot change. I choose to release what no longer needs to control my life.”
DAY 20 — THE RELEASE RITUAL
Create a personal symbolic release ritual.
Participants write down what they are releasing and then safely dispose of the paper.
The purpose is psychological symbolism—not magic.
STAGE 5 — THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS
DAY 21 — WHAT FORGIVENESS IS
Teach:
Forgiveness is not forgetting.
It is not:
- excusing

Self-forgiveness is essential.

“How did it affect me?”
“What did I need that I did not receive?”
“What am I ready to release?”
DAY 24 — FORGIVENESS AND BOUNDARIES
Important teaching:
Forgiveness does not require continued access.
Participants learn that they can forgive someone while maintaining healthy boundaries.
DAY 25 — THE FORGIVENESS DECISION
Create a personal forgiveness statement.
Participants reflect on whether they are ready to forgive now, or whether they need more time.
The course should never force forgiveness before someone is emotionally ready.
STAGE 6 — LEARNING TO LOVE YOURSELF
DAY 26 — SELF-WORTH
Explore the difference between:
What I have done
and
Who I am
Teach participants that worth does not depend entirely on achievement, appearance, status or another person’s approval.

Exercise:
Three compassionate statements:

“I am allowed to grow.”

STAGE 8 — OPENING THE HEART AGAIN

Protecting your heart completely can also prevent you from experiencing love.
The goal is not to become naïve.
The goal is to become wise and open.
DAY 37 — VULNERABILITY
Teach vulnerability as courageous honesty.
Exercise:
“Something I have been afraid to admit is…”
Participants choose what they feel safe sharing.
DAY 38 — RECEIVING LOVE

Create an “Open Heart Declaration.”
Participants define what love means to them now.
STAGE 9 — LIVING FROM A HEALED HEART

DAY 42 — GRATITUDE
Shift attention from what was lost to what remains.
Create a 30-item Gratitude List.
Include people, experiences, lessons, opportunities and simple daily blessings.
DAY 43 — YOUR NEW HEART RULES
Participants create their personal rules for living.
For example:
- I will be honest with myself.

- what kind of person you will become
- what you promise yourself going forward
THE HEALING OF THE HEART DECLARATION
At the end of Day 45, participants read:
MY HEALING OF THE HEART DECLARATION
I honour my story.
I honour the experiences that shaped me, the people who loved me, the people who hurt me, the choices I made and the lessons I learned.
I cannot change my past, but I can choose what I do with it.
I release the belief that I must remain imprisoned by yesterday.
I forgive myself for the things I did when I did not know what I know today.
I choose to work toward forgiving those who have hurt me, without denying what happened and without abandoning healthy boundaries.
I choose to stop carrying what does not belong to me.
I choose to treat myself with compassion.
I choose to respect my heart.
I choose relationships built on honesty, trust, respect and love.
I will no longer confuse love with fear, control, manipulation or self-abandonment.
I will give love without losing myself.
I will receive love without believing that I am unworthy of it.
I will allow myself to grow.
I will allow myself to change.
I will allow myself to heal.
My past is part of my story, but it is not the author of my future.
Today I choose life.
Today I choose love.
Today I choose forgiveness.
Today I choose freedom.
Today I choose myself.
**My heart has a story.
My heart has been wounded.
My heart can heal.
And my heart can love again.**

Certificate of Completion
HEALING OF THE HEART

“This certificate acknowledges the completion of a 45-day guided journey of self-reflection, emotional awareness, forgiveness, self-love, relationship growth and personal transformation.”
IMPORTANT COURSE POSITIONING
I would position this course not as psychotherapy or a promise to cure trauma, but as a structured personal-development and emotional-healing journey.
Participants who experience significant trauma, abuse, severe depression, suicidal thoughts, or other serious mental-health concerns should be encouraged to seek appropriate professional support alongside the course.
That actually strengthens the credibility of the program.
THE CENTRAL MESSAGE OF THE COURSE
The entire 45-day program can ultimately be reduced to one powerful message:
You cannot rewrite yesterday, but you can decide what tomorrow will look like.
And that is where your Book of Love can become more than a book—it becomes a 45-day experience that takes someone from reading about love to doing the inner work required to live with a more open, healed and loving heart.
