Here is a complete, facilitator-ready four-week Life Coaching Program designed around the themes of your Book of Love. It is structured so that you can actually take a client through it week by week, with coaching conversations, exercises, reflection, homework, and measurable outcomes.
FOUR-WEEK LIFE COACHING PROGRAM
The Book of Love — Learning to Love Yourself, Your Life and Your Relationships
Duration: 4 weeks
Format: Online or face-to-face
Sessions: 1 coaching session per week
Recommended session length: 60–90 minutes
Facilitator: Gerald Crawford
Approach: Life coaching, self-awareness, emotional development, personal growth and intentional living
The purpose of the program
This four-week program helps a person move from self-doubt, emotional patterns, unhealthy relationships and disconnection from themselves toward greater self-awareness, self-worth, emotional freedom, healthier relationships and a more intentional life.
The central principle is:
You cannot create a different life without first becoming aware of the way you are living the life you already have.
The program follows four stages:
WEEK 1 — KNOW YOURSELF
Awareness and self-discovery
WEEK 2 — LOVE YOURSELF
Self-worth, healing and emotional freedom
WEEK 3 — LOVE OTHERS DIFFERENTLY
Relationships, boundaries and communication
WEEK 4 — LOVE YOUR LIFE
Purpose, choices and creating your future

- What is currently causing you the greatest frustration?
- What do you want your life to look like six months from now?
- What are you avoiding?
- What are you afraid to change?
- What do you know you need to do but keep postponing?
- If nothing changed in your life, where would you be in five years?
- What would you do differently if you stopped being afraid?
- What would make these four weeks worthwhile for you?
This becomes your baseline.
WEEK 1 — KNOW YOURSELF
Theme:
“Before you can change your life, you must become aware of yourself.”
Primary objective
Help the client understand who they are, how they think, what they believe, what drives them and what patterns are influencing their life.
SESSION STRUCTURE
1. Opening — 10 minutes
Begin by creating a safe coaching environment.
Ask:
“What would make today’s conversation valuable for you?”
Then establish three principles:
- Be honest.
- Be willing to look at yourself.
- Be willing to take responsibility for what you can change.
Explain:
“This program isn’t about me telling you how to live your life. My role is to help you discover the answers that are already within you.”
EXERCISE 1: MY LIFE STORY
Ask the client to divide their life into chapters.
For example:
Childhood → Adolescence → Young adulthood → Relationships → Career → Family → Today
Ask them:
- What happened during this period?
- What did you learn?
- What did you believe about yourself?
- Who influenced you?
- What hurt you?
- What strengthened you?
- What patterns began during this period?
Coaching question:
“What parts of your past are still influencing the person you are today?”
EXERCISE 2: THE MIRROR
Ask:
“Who are you when nobody is watching?”
Have the client complete:
I am…
10 statements.
Then:
I am not…
10 statements.
Then:
I want to become…
10 statements.
Discuss the answers.
The objective is to distinguish between:
- Who I really am
- Who I was taught to be
- Who others expect me to be
- Who I have pretended to be
- Who I want to become
EXERCISE 3: MY LIFE PATTERNS
Ask the client to identify recurring patterns.
Relationships
“What repeatedly happens in your relationships?”
Emotions
“What emotions repeatedly control your decisions?”
Behaviour
“What do you repeatedly do even though you know it isn’t helping you?”
Thinking
“What negative thoughts repeatedly appear?”
Avoidance
“What do you keep avoiding?”
THE AWARENESS QUESTION
Ask:
“What is the one thing you have been unwilling to admit to yourself?”
Give them time.
Do not rush to fill the silence.
WEEK 1 HOMEWORK
Daily Awareness Journal
Every evening answer:
- What did I feel today?
- What caused that feeling?
- How did I respond?
- What did I learn about myself?
- Where did I act according to my values?
- Where did I act against my values?
- What could I do differently tomorrow?
Week 1 Challenge
Spend 10 minutes every day alone without your phone, television or other distractions.
Simply observe your thoughts.
WEEK 1 OUTCOME
By the end of Week 1, the client should understand:
Who I am.
What I believe.
What I feel.
What patterns I repeat.
What I need to change.
WEEK 2 — LOVE YOURSELF
Theme:
“You cannot give yourself the life you believe you don’t deserve.”
Primary objective
Help the client examine their relationship with themselves.
This week focuses on:
- Self-worth
- Self-acceptance
- Self-forgiveness
- Inner criticism
- Shame
- Fear
- Emotional wounds
- Limiting beliefs
SESSION OPENING
Ask:
“How do you speak to yourself when you make a mistake?”
Then:
“Would you speak to someone you love the way you speak to yourself?”
Discuss the difference between self-awareness and self-judgement.
EXERCISE 1: THE INNER VOICE
Ask the client to write down their five most common negative thoughts.
For example:
- I’m not good enough.
- I’m too old.
- I always fail.
- Nobody really loves me.
- I’ll never change.
Then challenge each thought.
| Negative belief | Evidence | New belief |
|---|---|---|
| I’m not good enough | What evidence? | I am capable of learning and growing. |
The goal is not unrealistic positive thinking.
It is balanced thinking.
EXERCISE 2: THE LETTER TO MYSELF
Ask the client to write a letter beginning:
“Dear Me…”
They must write about:
- What they have survived
- What they regret
- What they forgive themselves for
- What they are proud of
- What they appreciate about themselves
- What they want to change
- What they want to tell themselves going forward
EXERCISE 3: WHAT DO I DESERVE?
Ask:
“What do you believe you deserve in life?”
Then explore:
- Love
- Respect
- Peace
- Happiness
- Success
- Healthy relationships
- Forgiveness
- Opportunity
- Rest
- Boundaries
Then ask:
“What are you currently accepting that is below what you say you deserve?”
This can become a powerful coaching conversation.
EXERCISE 4: FORGIVENESS
Introduce the concept:
“Forgiveness is not saying that what happened was acceptable. It is deciding that what happened will no longer control your future.”
Ask the client to identify:
- Someone they need to forgive.
- Something they need to forgive themselves for.
- Something from their past they need to release.
WEEK 2 HOMEWORK
The 7-Day Self-Love Practice
Every morning write:
“Today I choose to…”
Complete the sentence.
Every evening write:
“Today I am proud of myself because…”
Also identify one thing you will stop doing to yourself.
Examples:
- Stop insulting myself.
- Stop comparing myself.
- Stop seeking everyone’s approval.
- Stop replaying my mistakes.
- Stop accepting disrespect.
WEEK 2 OUTCOME
The client begins moving from:
“What’s wrong with me?”
toward:
“What can I learn, change and become?”
WEEK 3 — LOVE OTHERS DIFFERENTLY
Theme:
“Healthy love begins with healthy boundaries.”
Primary objective
Help the client understand their relationships and learn to create healthier patterns.
This week examines:
- Communication
- Boundaries
- Trust
- Respect
- Expectations
- Conflict
- Attachment
- Giving and receiving love
- Relationship patterns
SESSION OPENING
Ask:
“What do your relationships teach you about yourself?”
Then:
“Do you choose relationships, or do you sometimes simply accept whoever chooses you?”
EXERCISE 1: MY RELATIONSHIP MAP
Ask the client to list the important people in their life.
For each person:
How do I feel after spending time with this person?
Choose:
- Energised
- Supported
- Loved
- Neutral
- Drained
- Anxious
- Disrespected
- Controlled
This helps reveal relationship patterns.
EXERCISE 2: MY BOUNDARIES
Ask:
“Where in your life do you need a stronger boundary?”
Explore:
- Time
- Money
- Family
- Romantic relationships
- Work
- Friends
- Communication
- Personal space
- Emotional availability
Then teach:
A boundary is not a punishment. A boundary is a statement of what you will and will not accept.
BOUNDARY PRACTICE
Teach the client to say:
“I understand what you’re saying, but I’m not comfortable with that.”
“I need some time before I respond.”
“That’s not something I’m willing to do.”
“I respect your decision, but I need you to respect mine.”
EXERCISE 3: HOW DO I LOVE?
Ask:
- How do I show love?
- How do I expect people to show love to me?
- What do I need from others?
- What do others need from me?
- Do I give too much?
- Do I ask for too little?
- Do I confuse love with rescuing?
- Do I confuse love with control?
- Do I stay where I am not respected because I am afraid of being alone?
EXERCISE 4: THE CONVERSATION I HAVE BEEN AVOIDING
Ask the client:
“What conversation do you know you need to have but keep avoiding?”
Help them prepare the conversation using:
I feel…
I need…
I would like…
My boundary is…
Rather than:
“You always…”
Teach:
“When this happens, I feel…, and what I need is…”
WEEK 3 HOMEWORK
Relationship Awareness Challenge
For seven days, notice:
- How you communicate
- How you react when challenged
- When you become defensive
- When you people-please
- When you withdraw
- When you become controlling
- When you fail to communicate your needs
Do not judge yourself.
Simply observe.
WEEK 3 OUTCOME
The client should begin understanding:
“I am responsible for the way I participate in my relationships.”
They learn that loving others does not mean abandoning themselves.
WEEK 4 — LOVE YOUR LIFE
Theme:
“Your future is built by the choices you make today.”
Primary objective
Bring the entire four-week journey together and help the client create a practical vision for their future.
This week focuses on:
- Purpose
- Values
- Goals
- Priorities
- Habits
- Decision-making
- Personal responsibility
- Future planning
SESSION OPENING
Ask:
“If you continued living exactly as you are living today, where would your life be one year from now?”
Then:
“Is that where you want to be?”
EXERCISE 1: MY IDEAL LIFE
Ask the client to imagine waking up one year from today.
Ask:
Where am I living?
Who is in my life?
What does my relationship with myself look like?
What does my relationship with others look like?
What am I doing for work?
How do I feel?
What have I stopped doing?
What have I started doing?
What am I proud of?
EXERCISE 2: MY FIVE CORE VALUES
Ask the client to choose their five most important values.
Possible values:
- Love
- Family
- Freedom
- Faith
- Integrity
- Health
- Growth
- Adventure
- Service
- Security
- Creativity
- Success
- Peace
- Honesty
- Compassion
Then ask:
“Are you currently living according to these values?”
This is an important distinction:
Knowing your values is not enough. You must live them.
EXERCISE 3: THE LIFE RESET
Create four columns:
| Keep | Stop | Start | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| What serves me | What harms me | What I need | What must change |
Have the client fill in at least five items in each column.
EXERCISE 4: MY 90-DAY PLAN
Rather than creating unrealistic long-term goals, create a 90-day action plan.
Choose five areas:
1. ME
What will I change about myself?
2. RELATIONSHIPS
What relationship needs attention?
3. HEALTH
What will I do differently?
4. WORK/MONEY
What practical action will I take?
5. PURPOSE
What meaningful thing will I begin?
For each goal:
Goal → Action → Deadline → Measurement
THE 30-DAY COMMITMENT
Ask the client:
“What are you willing to commit to for the next 30 days?”
They choose:
3 daily commitments
3 weekly commitments
1 thing they will stop
1 thing they will start
1 person they need to speak to
1 fear they will face
FINAL COACHING CONVERSATION
Ask these ten questions:
- What have you learned about yourself?
- What surprised you?
- What pattern do you now recognise?
- What do you need to forgive?
- What do you need to stop accepting?
- What relationship needs to change?
- What boundary do you need to establish?
- What do you now know you are capable of?
- What is the most important change you will make?
- Who are you choosing to become?
FINAL EXERCISE: MY DECLARATION
Have the client complete:
I choose to…
I will no longer…
I will begin…
I will protect…
I will forgive…
I will honour…
I will become…
Then ask them to read it aloud.
FINAL LIFE SCORECARD
Repeat the original assessment.
Score the same areas from 1–10.
Compare:
Week 1 score
versus
Week 4 score
Don’t focus only on increases.
Ask:
“What changed inside you that the numbers don’t show?”
THE COACH’S ROLE
Your role throughout the four weeks is not to provide all the answers.
Your role is to:
Listen
Listen for what the client says—and what they avoid saying.
Question
Ask questions that create awareness.
Challenge
Challenge limiting beliefs and unhelpful patterns respectfully.
Reflect
Reflect their words back to them so they can hear themselves clearly.
Encourage
Recognise progress.
Hold accountable
At the beginning of each session ask:
“What did you commit to doing last week, and what happened?”
Then ask:
“What got in the way?”
And finally:
“What will you do differently this week?”
THE FOUR-WEEK JOURNEY
The entire program can be remembered through four simple questions:
WEEK 1
WHO AM I?
Awareness.
WEEK 2
HOW DO I LOVE MYSELF?
Self-worth and healing.
WEEK 3
HOW DO I LOVE OTHERS?
Relationships and boundaries.
WEEK 4
HOW DO I WANT TO LIVE?
Purpose and intentional living.
And the ultimate question becomes:
“What would my life look like if I began living from love rather than fear?”
COMPLETION
At the end of the four weeks, give the client a Certificate of Completion and encourage them to continue with their 90-day personal development plan.
You can also offer a follow-up monthly coaching session to maintain accountability and momentum.
This gives your four-week program a natural progression from Book → Coaching Program → 90-Day Transformation → Ongoing Coaching.
