Hypnotherapy Script: The Table and the Fire

Here is a full, trauma-informed hypnotherapy script based on The Table and the Fire.
It is written so you can read it verbatim or adapt it for your own voice and pacing.
Gentle, permissive language, suitable for groups or 1-on-1 sessions.

Induction & Settling

Take a moment now to get comfortable.
Allow your body to settle into the surface beneath you…
and gently close your eyes when you’re ready.

Begin by bringing your attention to your breathing.
No need to change it… just notice it.
The natural rhythm of the breath moving in…
and flowing out.

With each exhale, allow your body to soften just a little more.
Shoulders releasing…
jaw loosening…
hands and feet becoming heavier and warmer.

And as your body relaxes, your mind can relax too…
drifting inward…
becoming receptive…
safe…
present.

Deepening

Now imagine yourself walking down a gentle path.
Each step takes you deeper into relaxation…
deeper into awareness.

With every step, you feel more grounded…
more centered…
more connected to yourself.

At the end of this path, you arrive in a quiet, open space.
A place of inner knowing.
A place your subconscious recognizes as safe.

The Table and the Fire Imagery

In this space, you notice two powerful symbols.

In front of you stands a table.
It is strong… steady… grounded.
This table represents conversation… honesty… repair… responsibility.

To one side, you see a fire.
It burns calmly and steadily.
Not destructive… not chaotic…
but clean… clear… and purposeful.
This fire represents endings… release… and renewal.

Both belong here.
Neither is wrong.
Both serve your growth.

Subconscious Inquiry

Now, gently allow your subconscious to bring forward
a situation in your life where there is tension, confusion, or unresolved energy.

You do not need to analyze it.
Just notice what arises…
an image… a feeling… or a knowing.

As you hold this situation lightly in your awareness,
notice how your body responds.

And now ask, quietly inside:

“Is this a situation that calls for the table…
or is it time for the fire?”

There is no rush.
Your subconscious already knows the answer.

Pay attention to sensations in your body.
Openness may signal the table.
Heaviness, exhaustion, or tightness may signal the fire.

Trust what your body communicates.
It speaks the truth without words.

Choice & Integration

If you are drawn to the table,
imagine yourself sitting there calmly.
You feel capable of speaking truth…
listening clearly…
and setting healthy boundaries.

You are not here to over-give or self-betray.
You are here to meet life with maturity and integrity.

If you are drawn to the fire,
imagine gently placing into it what no longer serves you.
Old roles… broken agreements… outdated identities…
patterns that have already taught you their lesson.

Watch them dissolve safely into the fire.
Feel the lightness that follows release.

Nothing essential is lost.
Only what is complete.

Anchoring Wisdom

Now allow a deep sense of clarity to settle in your body.

Repeat silently, or simply absorb the truth:

I trust my inner knowing.
I know when to repair and when to release.
I choose consciously and stand in integrity.

This wisdom integrates now—
into your nervous system…
your emotional body…
and your future choices.

Reorientation

In a moment, you’ll begin to return to waking awareness,
bringing this clarity with you.

Start by noticing your breath again…
the surface beneath you…
the room around you.

Gently wiggle your fingers and toes…
bringing energy back into your body.

And when you’re ready, open your eyes—
feeling grounded, clear, and aligned.
